Changing a DVD drive on a PC

I know it varies but generally is it very hard to do? Its just mine has packed up and Mesh are sending me a new one after ive sent the broken one to them. Was going to send the whole PC to them but I need it, even with out the D drive.

Nah it's fairly easy, just be careful that screws don't drop into the computer as you're doing it.

Yep, did it within recent memory, was fairly painless aside from wrenching off the metal cover on the spare drive bay in the PC which appeared to be welded on!

These days the computer will set the software up pretty easily.

I suspect the most difficult part will be getting the case open!

Just unscrew the drive, take it out, unplug the cables. Then put the new drive back in, screw it in and plug the cables back in. Restart your PC and you're good to go.

There shouldn't be any more to it than that.

The cables might vary if it is IDE or SATA etc, but the procedure is the same.
