View Full Version : Naughty, naughty Schumacher at the RoC - busted!

Schumacher testing the FORD Focus rallycar on the Saturday before the main event - I thought Ferrari/FIAT frowned on this and only let him run in cars from the FIAT empire (Ferrari/Alfa Romeo/Maserati/Lancia/FIAT/Abarth)
Made me smile anyway - wonder if di Montezemolo frequents these boards?!:

I bet he wished he had that Ford when he went up against Carl Edwards rather than the Fiat, tough. ;)

Oh no, he best be careful, they might fire him... :p :
I'm sure Luca would be fizzing in his business suit over less trivial things, I imagine...

He wasn't wearing his Ferrari overalls either, rather his own private one, which tells me that whatever stipulation there was in his contract about what he can drive and what logos he has to put on his overalls, have now expired.

I think you are right!
PS: Anyone knows about a place where I could watch the RoC online?

He wore a special pair of overalls last year for a charity. I guess it's much the same this year even though I think he's still contracted to Ferrari?

I didn't think Schumacher still worked for anyone. I assumed he was a freelance consultant.

Freelance or not there's always some obligation - and some rule about what you can do/can't do and what you can wear while doing it... especially in the high-branded world of motorsports - lol I imagine all these sponsorships and agreements makes it hard to go out in the world and not offend someone somewhere - especially in series where the cars are just plastered with stickers.

I understood that he was a consultant, adviser, and had a life time job at Ferrari
I thought Jean Todt was now managing director, and Schumacher was also doing some testing if an opinion was needed.

He does do testing for them. He was part of the F430 Scuderia development team (don't know about California).
But, probably that is just a consultancy/testing contract, and doesn't cover other areas like advertising rights etc.
