The deals with the drivers may vary but you can expect the drivers get at least 50% of the money. The remaining 50% goes to the team owner.

I think you're off a bit on that. In the old days the driver got about 50%, owner 25% and crew (back when there was maybe a dozen people) 25%. Now with crews at 50-75 people and payout much bigger, it's thought that drivers get about 30%, owner 20%, crew & car chiefs a few % and the rest to the crew (which still doesn't go very far.) These numbers were backed up last year in what came out in the Ginn drivers lawsuit.
