The Derrick Walker team has announced that they
will enter the series with Filipino/American
driver Michele Baumgartner as NextGen / MTD
come aboard as sponsor.

Starting in karting, she quickly advanced up the ranks, winning four Asian Karting Open Championship titles. Making the move to cars, she has competed in the Asian Formula 3 Championship, Italian Masters series, Toyota Racing Seres and Star Mazda Championship over the past few years.

Jovy Marcelo must be proud.

If I've heard the name, I can't remember her. Tell us about her. Is she any good?

She is from Philipino descent who emigrated to the US. She has done some
F3 and was in the Star Mazda series.

Didn't we see a samilar report a while ago (2007?), except it was supposed to be Atlantics at the time? While I am a bit skeptical since it says they're still finalizing the detials, I hope everything works out and she and Walker are on the Indy Lights grid.
