Before setting off back to London last night i checked my route and there were no static speed cameras on the map. Wohoo! Well driving back last night, somewhere near the oxford services heading in the london direction, i went past the signs which you see displaying messages (accident, long delays etc). these had a camera on them (not speed) but it flashed green as went through it??? and then about a mile down the road or so there was another one and it flashed green again.

Was just wondering if this is one of these digital cameras which measures your speed over a mile??

I've never heard of them flashing green. Also, aren't there meant to be signs warning of temporary cameras?

I've always thought that the ones which really do look like actual cameras rather than boxes were likely to be CCTV.

Traffic monitoring cameras often have green filters on them to cut out glare. It's possible that as you were driving past you caught the sun reflecting off the lens, hence it appeared to flash green?
