There should be no question. Jimmie has established himself as one of the best. Winning 3 in a row is unbelievable. My Congrats to him, knaus, and the whole team.

congrats, to JJ.
the 48 team has earned it through and through.
now, Nascar needs to end the pointless playoff and go back to a 36 race season.

Carl Edwards would be the Champion IF the stupid chase had not been implemented ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif
plus if you notice, the points margin 1st to 2nd in the classic points would have been only 16 points ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/eek.gif
the stupid chase has a 69 points margin 1st to 2nd & it was supposed to create a tight points battle. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/rolleyes.gif
Plus Kyle Busch's awesome season was recognized in the classic points, not so in the stupid chase.

I don't think there's any way to make a blanket statement like that, because you run a strategy based on the actual points system being used. First of all, Jimmie Johnson ran Homestead knowing that all he had to do was finish 36th. If it was the old system, and he would have had to finish 7th, DO you really think Jimmie Johnson could not have finished 7th had he needed to?
THis doesn't even take into account all the other races that would have been run under a different strategy. Heck, Kyle Busch could have started running races just to finish well and he would have walked away with it.
It's fun to play "What if...?", but to say that Carl Edwards is the real champion is just silly, because it assumes all would remain the same if you changed the points, it wouldn't.

JJ has to be the nicest guy we've had as champion in long while. I don't think I've come across bad things to say about him unless you Earnhardt fans out there still have it in for him for being a Hendrick driver/affiliated with Jeff Gordon.
