Barack Obama made a lot of promises during his election campaign, but none more important than one he made to his young daughters.

From the campaign's onset, he vowed to buy the girls a dog, win or lose. And as he stood before the country as president-elect Tuesday, he announced that America would have a new First Dog come January.

Seeing as it's time for change and a new direction, I think it's time that the people voted for a dog we can believe in.

The Dulux Dog - because Obama is going to need to spend quite a lot of time repairing and repainted over the mess of the last 8 years :D

I think a golden retriever would be the ideal family choice :)

Also loyal and the smartest breed around. My good buddy died a couple of months ago. But I swear, when he was a youngster, I believed that if he'd had hands, he could have written computer programs. Here he is giving me advice on building my house.

Great looking dog, too. :up: I'd consider getting a Border Collie as my next dog if I'm not still in suburbia when that time comes.

But why hasn't anyone mentioned a Jack Russell Terrier? :mad:

I heard a rumor that the Obama transition team has secretly contacted Karl Rove to get an idea what the poltical repercussions would be should the wrong canine candidate be chosen... :)

I haven't heard anything about that, and a spokesperson from the Obama team vehemently denied any such meeting or conversation took place he did acknowledge that Obama's wife Michelle got permission to walk the Bush dog as a trial run around the Whte House lawn. :)

The dog doesn't have right whatsoever to frighten puppy, he only possess right to take a bow to respect puppy whenever he want to walk the lawn and entering white house. :)

+1 not to mention it will have a lot of room to run around the white house and gardens :D although Border Collie puppies are very devious so my suggestion is get an adult one.
