I can see Loeb doing extremely well, hes not the typical rally driver in liking to go sideways around the corners, and hes run the 24Hours of Lemans for Pescarolo Sport and he even finished 2nd overall in 2006.

He emphasised that the test was purely for fun and that he had no F1 ambitions.

"I’d like to clear up any speculation about me possibly switching to F1... next year I’m definitely going to be driving a Citroen C4 WRC in the World Rally Championship," Loeb said.

At Paul Ricard last year he was less than a second slower than Kovalainen in a test for Renault. He is extremely good but that was just one test, and he will be 35 years old before the start of next season. It wouldn't be a realistic ambition.

Although hopefully we will see Loeb having a few more cracks at Le Mans whilst he is still fit and competitive.

In the WRC I'm afraid he is just too good. :(

I'm sure Loeb, with testing, would have the pace to be in F1. I'd rather see him in F1 rather than WRC, such is the state of the WRC. His talents deserve a better series.

For the record NASCAR driver Kyle Busch is supposed to be testing a Toyota in Japan over the Winter and he stated he'd be taking it very seriously.http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns20361.html
