But I want Massa to win the title :(

Could be quite a race if it starts raining. If it doesn't I'd have to say Lewis is going to win the title.

In any case Massa needs some sort of catastrophic race to win, because if the events of the grand prix are straightforward, I don't think Lewis will stuff it up.

Chance of showers on the weekend.

Chance of showers on the weekend.I'd be inclined to say that rain would probably favor the McLaren boat, err, car. I think if Lewis and crew didn't botch Monza during qualifying that they could have won that race. Fortunately, that never happened and Vettel went on to win. When it came down to Spa, Lewis was also able to defeat Kimi and take the win (oops, forgot Hammy was swindled).

Massa hasn't been exactly brilliant in the rain. I just coughed up some water remembering Silverstone. We'll have to wait and see!

True. Massa's in a bit of a pickle if the weather conditions are chaotic.

Obviously I want Hamilton to win the race and the title, but I'd also like it if Massa could be on the podium at his home Grand Prix.

Silverstone aside he's driven superbly all year and has displayed sportsmanship the like of which has been sadly lacking from F1 in recent times.

Whatever happens we're guaranteed a first-time World Champion; I just hope that the race reflects the excitement of the season and isn't a snooze-fest like China.

Discarding the fact that Lewis, and the McLaren perform better in the rain than the Ferrari.
McLaren has seemed to have had the upper hand in strategy and tyre choice in rain races.
You can look at this two ways:
McLaren's operation is simply better at managing these situations( there is plenty of evidence of this)

Or, that they have rolled the dice with their bet on the "pass" line without crapping out all season, and are overdue to pitch

It would be great to see Massa winning in front of his home crowd. The Brazilian spectators are one of the best and if Massa wins a title there, it would create a fantastic athmosphere. On the other hand I don't want to see Hamilton losing it again for the second year in a row in the same manner.

Well I know it wasn't this one:

Here me now and understand me later
Fred is going to race his ass off!
Will he get past hamiliton
Probably not! Then again he might
come out of turn 2 ahead of him
did I drink the Kool Aid? Let's just say
I'd rather rule in hell,
than serve in heaven

Or this one!

And just because Fred acted unlike Roy F*****g Hobbs, Doesn't mean he won't act irrationally, and or, in his own interests. It reminds me of a line from “The Princess Bride”. When Enugo Montoya told Leslie "I give you my word as a Spaniard you will reach the top alive." Leslie still disguised as the Dread Pirate Roberts replied “No thanks! I've known too many Spaniards"I certainly wasn't the one who posted this one

This season will close with an applaud so loud that the anthems will be silenced by the din made from the sound of every fair minded, scrupulous, f1 loving, Homo Sapien, this side of Uranus when Kimi snatches the championship in a dream of a race that will restore that little iota of dignity this sport has left in it this season.

Massa has been unfairly stereotyped with regards to his wet weather driving skills. If you look at when the Ferrari was decent in the wet, Monaco, or back last year, he has been strong.

His poor wet performances have been due to the car, look at Kimi, he hasn't done much in the wet either.

Though Ferrari claim to have ressolved their wet weather issue, so if that is the case hopefully we'll have a good fight.

I think McLaren would rather it stay dry, because it would make it a lot more mundane and more predictable, which is what they are after.

Interestingly, I'm watching practice now and its dry.

It looks like we have an interesting conundrum developing for quali, (and the race) It seems that today it will be dry, while tomorrow will be a steady rain

Today: Generally cloudy. High around 70F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow: Showers early, becoming a steady rain later in the day. High around 75F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.
http://weather.yahoo.com/Sao-Paulo-Brazil/BRXX0232/forecast.html

This has got to leave Ferrari, McLaren (as well as everyone else) with some serious setup, and fuel load issues. If these predictions are accurate, in order to qualify on the front row, or near it, they will not be able to run too much rear wing element! However in the rain without it you will be at a huge disadvantage. Plus a low fuel load will be a dodgy proposition. The chance of a saftey car situation is a very likely eventuality. This could get very interesting! :)

Lewis Hamilton will be disappointed not to be on the front row but if the race finishes in the exact order it starts he'll be very happy. Very good qualifying by Jarno Trulli, just wonder how many laps worth of fuel is in his car.

As insufferable as his fans will be if he does win, I think the flip side of the coin will test the bounds of human suffering. We could see the largest mass suicide since the Reverend Jim Jones had his congregation drink the cyanide laced Kool-Aid. The wife-beating, child abuse, and animal cruelty rates are likely to jump exponentially. Not to mention the nervous breakdowns, and other psychological disorders to follow!
:) :)

I would say I will drink to that, but I never like to drink alone.....

But not to worry, cause you know

I got the cure for all and everything

for what will be ailing them, one drink and no more wife beating, child abuse, animal cruelty, nervous breakdowns ....

fact is if he wins, I will still buy all of them a round, on the house  .

Rev Jimmie???he ain't seen nothing...well at least not lately
Better get to mixing now, tommorrow could be a long day.....so many fans, so little time

What are the weather predictions? Last time I checked they were talking about rain throughout Sunday. If that's the case, Ferrari's only hope is for Lewis to be taken out in a T1 accident (perhaps that's why Jarno starts with 10 laps worth of fuel?).
If there is wet weather for the majority of the race today, I reckon we can expect an Alonso, Lewis and Vettel podium.
Ferrari will prob be on the wrong tyres when the conditions change.

Ferrari and Massa should not count on Jarno's help, as he's told Ital TV that he will try his best to finish highest possible no matter what.

Bravo Jarno

Here's what he said in the press conference (http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2008/11/8626.html):

Q: How do you tackle this race given there’s a World Championship going on around you?

JT: I know that there are people fighting for it, but to be honest, I race for myself and I race for my team. I race for points and racing is all my life. So all I want to do… with all my experience, I know that I don’t have to take too many risks. You can bet on me that if I am wheel-to-wheel into the first corner and I am on the inside line, I won’t give up – this is pretty sure – but for sure if I am behind, I won’t try a crazy attack at the first corner. I will just try to manage and to do my race because in the end it is the final result which is the most important. All I want is to do my race and try to score the best possible result. Felipe will do his race as well, as well as Lewis and then we will see. I don’t think we’re going to have any problems and honestly, the championship and stuff doesn’t do anything to my mind.

 indeed.

I was going to say the mechanics send him out while still connected to the fuel hose and cost him the win and the wdc title....but that already happenned at Sing a port .... :( ....(if Massa had won @Sing a port, and assumming that ole Britatorie had not hatched the plot to have NP, jr. crash out at just the right time to hand the win to FA...how many points would Hamster need to win right now??? By Tales Azzoni, Associated Press Writer
SAO PAULO, Brazil — Light rain fell at the Interlagos track Sunday morning and heavy showers were expected in the afternoon when Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa race for the Formula One title during the decisive Brazilian Grand Prix.
Thousands of fans lined up to enter Interlagos in the hope of celebrating Brazil's first F1 title since Ayrton Senna in 1991.

Massa, who grew up near Interlagos, will start from pole position with his Ferrari in the season-ending race, with points leader Hamilton fourth on the grid for McLaren.

Massa, who trails by seven points, has to finish first or second to have a chance of winning. Hamilton can become F1's youngest champion by finishing fifth or better, regardless of where Massa finishes.

The sun came out at times in the morning, but forecasters predict an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms around the start of the race at noon EST.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: Formula One | Ferrari | McLaren | Lewis Hamilton | Felipe Massa | Ayrton Senna | Brazilian Grand Prix | Brazilian GP | Interlagos | Damon Hill | Kimi Raikonnen
About 70,000 fans are expected at Interlagos, and the track was already nearly packed more than five hours before the race. Most of the fans were dressed in the red colors of Ferrari, and many carried banners supporting Massa - and some wishing bad luck to Hamilton.

Hamilton missed a chance to win the title in his rookie season last year by blowing a seven-point advantage over Kimi Raikonnen, Massa's teammate, in the last race.

The title this year would still make Hamilton the youngest champion at age 23. Renault's Fernando Alonso was 24 when he clinched the title in 2005

Huhoh, it was great to see Fisichella running in the points for so long due to a very good tyre gamble in the beginning. :D Shame that Jarno couldn't pass (could have cost an extra point in the end) him though as Toyota was set up more for middle sector and lacked of top speed. DC's and Piquet's races ending in a fashion we have usually seen this season...

But anyway, whether you like the champion or not, we could at least all be proud that we have had the honour to witness such season finale. For ages F1 fans have wished to see a championship title being decided in the very last corner and although the mathematical possibility of this happening in reality is very tiny... it happened! As incredible and amazing as it may sound.
