Has anyone got any pics (or a link to some pictures) of Logano's Home Depot car? It was listed on the original entry list on Nascar's site as being #02, but on the qualifying results page, its listed as #202

Cheers

its #02

no one drives a triple-digit number, nor its even allowed.

Nascar really needs to change their Qualifying rules, this is getting out of hand. re-schedule for the next day, or have the drivers pick a number out of a hat or better yet, invert the field.

It's a holdover system from many years ago when there were well over 100 race cars but most only ran a few races near by. Almost all of the part time cars today still officially have 3 digit numbers although they will never be painted that way. The #08 that runs Florida and nearby races is #108, allows for #208 in the northeast, #308 in the west etc likewise for Boris Said, Stan Barrett, Norm Benning etc all 3 digit numbers.

According to ESPN, car owners must share numbers, so NASCAR uses three-digit numbers. A team which has a number must renew it with NASCAR. When another owner applies for a number, if one team owner has one number, should another request the same number, NASCAR licences a three-digit number with the restriction should the first owner enter, the second owner must use a different number.

In an effort for membership and points to correctly assign championship car owner points, NASCAR has to distinguish between the two car owners by having three-digit car numbers for legal reasons. If #108 is entered and another car as #208 is entered, #108 keeps #08 and #208 must find another number available for the weekend per NASCAR rules.

When the Nationwide Series ran a North-South combination race in the early 1990's, rules were established so that when a North and a South car has the same number, the driver qualified better keeps the number.

Well, It looks like Jimmie Johnson still has that lucky horse shoe planted firmly in the rear most part of his anatomy......

Was there anyone who didn't think Hamlin was going to spin the tires on the last restart?

Looks like JJ has the luck that Jeff Gordon had a few years ago. :s
(Edwards can't give up but he is over 1 race behind in the points standings ...) :s
I would love to see Jeff Gordon get his mojo back & send JJ to the back. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

It may be time to recognize JJ as one of the best in Nascar. I am sure that will not be a popular statement, but it is fact.

I'm still a JG fan along with Jr, and now also like Harvick. They are 3 of my current favorites.

I may be counting my chickens before they hatch, but if JJ wins the Championship, He'll be in a pretty select group.

Drivers with Three or More Championships:

Lee Petty
Richard Petty
David Pearson
Cale Yarborough
Darrell Waltrip
Dale Earnhardt
Jeff Gordon

That indeed is a pretty select group. JJ may not have come into Nascar with the same buildup as some of todays young guns but he is becoming a driver that will be remembered in history and the others will be forgotten.
