Hi all,
We have just had the 2008 Caltex Airport Starmart Rally here in Canberra. The 2nd last round of the PCD Engineering ACT Regional Rally Series. Quite a strong field with a few State level competitors coming down to compete against us Canberrans.
Tristan and I started car 32 for only his 3rd ever rally, we were a bit disappointed with the start position, but what can you do when you don't actually have a State seeding. Stage 1 we were 25th, then up to 17th and finally we finished 10th outright and 1st in class, only 4 secs off 9th.
The long 44.5km stage was fantastic, included the jump and tunnel from Rally of Canberra. The only issues we had was a broken piston on stage 3, so we had a 3 Cylinder car for the rest of the event, only went through about 5lt of oil :)
Engine to be rebuilt for the Natcap rally in October.
Not a bad effort for a 17 year old who has had his licence for 5 weeks and has already done 3 rallies, with 1st in class in two of them.
I have uploaded some incar footage.
It's on http://www.bakermotorsport.net
Cheers
