Anyone else glad to possibly see Lance Armstrong back in professional cycling at the age of 37?

He has been missed from the sport, and its great to see him giving the tour de france another go and to try to claim an 8th title. :)

Interesting news, but what team - he has been linked to Astana. How's that going to go down with Contador, Leipheimer?

He wants to raise more awareness for cancer and that is good but to base your sport comeback on that single issue is strange. Why can't he just say he is bored and want to ride again? No need to create gimmicks to compete.

If he goes to Astana then L'Equipe will have a field day talking about doping.

Will be great to have him back but not sure if he'll be able to get his 8th, could be a Tour too far and ruin the legend.

God!! I thought this was about Lance "Buddy" Franklin, the first indigenous player to kick 100 goals in a season. And to top it off, he kicked 8 goals last Friday against the Bulldogs in the prelim final.

seems that the whole Olympics thing with atheletes within his age group, such as Dara Torres, coming back and either placing or winning was a bigger inspiration for him, just as he was for both cycling enthusiasts and cancer survivors. :)

As he has kept himself busy, in the example of that Mountain Trails competition, it shouldn't be too much of stretch to go into training for the TOF and events preceeding it.

and if he gets too tired he can hop on the Livestrong bike OCC built for him...

Why does he feel the need to come back after 7 titles?

Do you see MS coming back to F1 as great for the sport?
Sure it lacks a little star-power but any sport has to move on. Football did not stop being exciting once Pele or Maradona retired.
