I can only wonder at the rental price in Montreal. I can still remember the rental price in Hong Kong was so high some 15 years ago that one of the Consultants was going to force 4 of their Geologists hired from the UK to share a crappy dingy flat in Mong Kok.

Of course, the expatriate staff of HSBC on the other extreme lived in luxury apartments and bungalows at The Peak. Rentals there, were not a significant factor as The Bank owned those properties. ;)
