The crowd could well end up with wet a Sauerkraut.

As long as it doesn't rain here for the weekend like it did last weekend!!

Rain on the Boss' time is fine but not the weekends!! ;)

I'd prefer rain in night :s mokin:

btw, in the smaller class of 250 cc, if rains it would be likely to see Bautista struggles, if not crashed. Apart from the fact he is bloody fast in dry he needs to learn riding in wet I think.

It's a weird first day of practice for MotoGP. The first 4 places are very spread out with all of them being separated by 4 tenth intervals but then from Rossi back to West in 15th are covered by only 6 tenths.
Rossi and Pedrosa would both have to be getting very nervous of Stoner's form. He and Ducati have really got things sorted now and he's looking very ominous of complete domination like last year.

Stoner's record-breaking lap time of 1.21.582 (top speed 280km/h) was great in FP2. However Simoncelli's best lap in 250 QP of 1.23.953 (top speed 233 km/h) was only 2.371 seconds in arrears and only .089 sec slower than Toseland's best on the day...........
Seems to me that if there's an early break by the leader(s), the slower starters will have trouble catching up and passing...... looks like the right-hand sides of the tyres are in for a hammering.

I would reckon that when the 600's are introduced, they should give the 800's a run for their money at this circuit.......

Anyone seen the doco "Faster" about Motogp riders - how up to date is it?. It's on the Sky Documentary channel Sunday night, but at the same time as the motogp races so I hope it will be repeated.
it takes place in the 2002 season just before they transition to 990s (or is that 2001?). anyway, a good watch. lots of interviews with schwantz and rainey and doohan, rossi, too. garry maccoy gets a fair amount of attention and, oddly enough, so does john hopkins.

my prediction on tomorrow:
1 Stoner
2 Pedrosa
3 Rossi

Rossi had problems with his quali tyres, but on racepace he was quit okay. Stoner was clearly the best

the racing is seriously screwed up and it looks like a romp at the front again

Casey may clear off from the start, but the battle for 2nd and 3rd will be interesting. Rossi will again have to work his way through the field, Edwards will again slip backwards through the race. Randy will crash, as well as De Angelis. JT will struggle to be in the top ten, but, I am looking forward to the race :)

Just about ready to go. I will fly out on the 28th. Yeah, found lots of stuff that I had forgotten I had. I will leave lots of things behind. My big concern is getting Monkeyboy, (my cat) into Oz without drama's. He's my boy, can't go anywhere without him.

Rossi can do it. With any luck we'll see the two of them in battle to the end, and as much as I'd love to see Casey do it again, if Rossi can beat him fair and square I don't think I'd be any less happy. And I'm sure Rossi would go on the record to say it was his best racing season yet.

this race summarizes why casey is so great. he is the complete rider. not a chink in the armour. wet, dry, it doesn't matter.

compare wsty to guintoli. two riders on difficult bikes, strugling to stay in motogp.

guintoli capitalizes on the few points scoring options (assen and germany), while, given the exact same opportunity, westy crashes. that's the difference betwen good press and positive team relations, and why the kawasaki post race reports have included pointed criticism of westy while alice team management proudly congratulate sylvain.

He rides strong and stronger, but the party isn't over yet, last weekend Bridgesteone riders generally had their upper-hand that might put us in bias opinion. I found similarity riding bike between Pedrosa and Lorenzo both of which unfortunately use the same tyres. Given that all of them ride using the same tyres we can come easier to conclusion who was the fastest.

by seeing Pedrosa's crash, isn't the Sachsenring circuit a bit too dangerous? I mean, it's almost like a street circuit, so short are the run-offs...

stoner praised the safety of the circuit. rossi, who heads the riders safety committee has never said a cross word about the track.

that's good enough for me.

No circuit is 100% safe. In the dry Dani would likely have been fine but in the wet you skid faster and don't decelerate as fast.

I thought that circuit have the flatter surface than street for public, therefore street circuit should have better drainage and less dangerous ...
