Yeah they got quite a bit of air on that jump last year.

Im probably gonna go to Walters Arena as you will see the two stages plus would be able to see them at service.
Are they just running Walters as a short stage or is it part of Rheola much longer stage etc???

jbanbury
11th July 2008, 18:08
Walters is 6.64 miles

I'll be doing the jump in Margam, service, somewhere in Walters Arena and the finish ramp

What time av u got to be in at work???

Well I work at a golf course and it takes me 3 and a half hours to cut greens and touch up the bunkers.

I think if im in at 4.30-500 I can be done by about 8 and its around 2 hours to Margam with spirited driving! itl be very tight!

Bear in mind that you cant drive to anywhere near the jump in Margam (unless your're signed on as media).... and it's a very long walk to get there from the start.

Where's the best place to park for the Margam stage as it isnt a spectator stage this year and i never been there before im going to Walters first but want to try and see the Nationals three times so any info about parking wud be a help ;)

jbanbury
15th July 2008, 18:02
If your going to try and see the naionals 3 times, you dont want to be driving into any part of the Margam stage ... you'll be in there for the whole day. You could park close to the start in Bryn and walk in ... couple of nice hairpins about 10 minutes walk.

Thanks for that info although i dont recon there would be enough time to watch most of the Nationals through the second run through Walters and then get to Margam in time but you never know might give it a try ;)
Think it will depend on whether Burton's still goin then i definately will want to go to Margam :D

Im no expert on the stages around Neath but you cant go wrong with Walters Arena as you can see the cars for a good while. Plus there entering the Arena from the other way this year which is much better as its over a fast jump then into the arena.
Is anybody planning on going to Margam???

jbanbury
16th July 2008, 12:42
I'll be in Margam from 11:00 ish ... got to do Walters 1st for the clubmen ... then hop over to margam in time to get the clubmen through there.

Bugger cant afford to go now, and I was really looking forward to it. The wheel bearing on my Focus started howling its ass off so ive had to have that replaced with a couple other bits and ive got to bend over for the goverment and pay my road tax at the end of the month, making me skint!

I hear that. Just had 4 new tyres, work done on the brakes and have the MOT and Tax coming out next month. Plus my brother will soon return from Canada and want his car back (it's actually on loan to me from him) so I'll have to buy a new one anyway. Add to that entry fees for a few events I'm doing and I have next to no money. Joy :D

Had a long but enjoyable day today.

Day didn't start off so great as we arrived at the start of MArgam we were told we couldn't park up by the start so we parked in the gateway opposite the Golf Course (The finish to Afan Argoed on the 06 RD), walked up through the golf course and came up to Junction 6, spent the first 2 runs there, some good commitment there, AB spun it and Rod Bennet was far too fast in the Punto and managed to chuck it sideways instead of sliding straight on.

In the afternoon met up with Simon Clarke and Wayne Goldring, had over an hour to kill Then went to Jct 4 for the 205/BMs (round the triangle) then had another hour to kill and then watched the last run at Junction 5.

Very good day, everyone seemed to be going well, weather was kind too
Looked to me like Ingram had put the car on its side too, anyone know where?

Will have a top 3 video on in abit

Shame about Burton goin out though. Spoke to Motorsport News at service and they said Burton had gone off on a hairpin in Resolven and went up a bank and got stuck :( dont know how much damage???

Im working on my Video now first event for new camera so dont know what it will be like but have plenty of AB in action ;) post it later today.
