Michael Schumacher is trying to race bikes under an alias.

He will race in the German IDM superbike class this weekend on a Honda Fireblade.

He did race under his real name once the secret was out.

He only took part in the 1 qualifying, he had engine trouble in the 2nd and didn't take part. His times were mid field (23th out of 39 riders) in Q1 but 37th after Q1 and Q2 combined times. He said he intended to start last anyway (a wise choice when racing for the first few times)

He finished 28th of 39 in race one and crashed out from 21st position in race 2

His team mate Martin Bauer won both races.

I think it is just fantastic that he is racing bikes. Reminds me of the old days when drivers multi tasked in terms of cars and series. Running at the back and crashing shows no ego and he has gone up in my estimation.

Schumacher's race in Germany got as much coverage in the papers as the MotoGP, 125 races got in the papers. Says it all really,...ignorant British newspaper editors.

Schumacher is more interesting to more people so the extra coverage is sort of justified sadly.
