They got a lot of strange stuff for a racing league. What did they use all those pacecars for?

Most of the pacecars were part of the old PPG program. The photos do not do justice to the paint on the PPG cars. The Ford products came after PPG left. When PPG was around the pacecars would parade around the track in formations as well as sell rides to the public. Same went for the Ford products later. I suspect that the pacecars will sell as is by bill of sale and the new owner will have to get a title. All the pacecars and safety trucks will have very low milage. Dedicated mechanic(s) traveled with the cars so they are in top condition.

The pace cars were never titled in any state. They looked into taking them to an auction years ago but the transportation costs were too high when added to the seller's premium charges. So they sat in the corner. These are very rare one-off vehicles. IMO they will be sold via a "bill of sale" and the buyer will have to apply for an ownership title in their state.

Surprisingly (or not) big bundles of wire is something that gets stolen quite a bit these days, from construction sites and even public street signs... :eek:
