Come on Hazell, how hard can giving birth be? All you have to do is lie there....Oh bugger here comes the wife. Where's the bloody delete key..........
:D
Hope it wasn't too traumatic. :)
And as I've heard, lying down is actually not natural position at all and makes birthing more difficult.

Some said that giving birth normally is hard, if they can remember how is the pain they don't want to do for the second, third, etc. Some said also giving birth trough surgery is not better choice either than that of normal.
Neither of both method are nice choice. So the better to do that wholeheartedly as it happens naturally to female. Goat have it harder as they usually give birth 4 or 5 new goats all at once. :D
btw, Congrats Mr DJ :)

Passing a watermelon would be easy compared to the terrible pain that I get in my arse when it goes numb after I've been watching the telly for 3 hours

Hello all, I think it's about time to give an update to you after many days of silence.
First of all to some of you who tought I was posting on the forum while my wife was in labour on the back seat of my car I can ensure that was not the case. She was already taken to hospital by ambulance at that time and I was waiting nurse to arrive to look after our five years old twins when I started this thread so you got it wrong there :p
I did manage to get to the hospital well in time to see the birth of our third child and what a long and exhausting delivery it was but finally new baby boy was born, told you so it's going to be a boy :D
But it was not over yet, for some reason baby had petechials all over his upper body and once doctors saw it they rushed him to more thorough examination to find out what is wrong. All tests they took came out as negative so it was not anything serious but to be sure that all is ok baby and mom were moved to Turku University hospital where they have been since last Tuesday doctors trying to find out what has caused those petechials. There are so many possible causes that I won't go there but have to say I was reliefed when I heard some of the first tests came out as negative...
Now almost week later baby is getting stronger day by day and those strange marks on his skin are vanishing but unfortunately mom is now sick having a bacterial infection causing very high fever (over +40C). She is getting antibiotics which seems to be helping and we are hoping her to be ok within few days so that we get both new baby and mom back home.
So all in all it has been one emotional rollercoaster ride the past week but as it looks right now things are going to be ok after few worrying days :)

Congrats!! :D
RE the person who said it wasn't natural to give birth lying down, you're right! In the old days (before painkillers, god bless them!) they used to give birth standing up! Think, gravity!
Don't ask how I know that.... :p
Congrats!! :D

I've heard that in the really old days, it wasn't that painful anyway. Maybe we were just more in tune with ourselves back then. :)

Yeah old days it wasn't painful, but the other way around. My grand mother in law gave birth 16 times...
