Red Bull Junior Team - Class of 2007

Red Bull have now published their Red Bull Junior Team placements for 2007 although not all their partner teams are agreed as yet.

So, these are the guys supposedly at the front end of the queue for RBR and STR rides in the coming years....lets see what happens....especially with RBR looking 'outside' the family recently with Webber and STR looking at Bourdais and Bruno Senna in the future.

Interesting that with the queue backing up for their juniors to get into F1 rides, that ontop of Jani going to Champcar, 2 juniors, Wickens and Edwards will now be placed in ChampCar Atlantic, relieving the burden on those Red Bull kids looking to get into GP2/WSR etc.

Intresting to see Philip Eng, the promising Austrian who ran FBMW in 2006 missing - This year for the first time in its history, the Red Bull Junior Team will run NO Austrian drivers!!

why do they sponsor vettel? he seems pretty settled in at BMW.

i think you shouldn't get too caught up with the red bull junior academy's links to red bull racing/toro rosso. Yes obviously there are links between the three outfits and for marketing purposes its good for red bull to exploit such links by having the drivers appear in photo's with the cars, and ofcourse the drivers testing the F1 machines. But at the end of the day the red bull junior academy was operating well before red bull racing and toro rosso where formed.

Red Bull just want these drivers to get into formula one and be known as a product of the Red Bull acadmeny. They dont particularly care which team its with, as long as they are successfull and have a big fat redbull logo on their helmet, and ofcourse say how thankful they are to red bull in press conferences.

It's the same as how other corporations sponsor junior development programs in many and varied sports. For example here in australia a bank sponsors a junior cricket academy, now obviously they aren't doing this so they can have gun cricketers working in their banks! They are doing it 100% for the exposure and its the same with red bull. All about exposure. The fact they also own 2 race teams is really coincidental

Red Bull always like to have a presence in every major racing series. Red Bull racing colours are some of the most recognisable throughout F1. When Red Bull sponsor a driver the attention they get is far greater than any other sponsor because I driver will always be described as being in Red Bull colours and a Red Bull Junior driver rather than say a Fortec driver or in the black car etc, with no mention of sponsors.

Totally agree with RJL25 and Mikeall. When you've got a driver's name and "Red Bull" mentioned in the same breath, that driver's automatically looked at as having a real chance at going places in the series' ladder leading to F1. That and even some people that don't know much about Red Bull's driver development programme at least know that a kid's being sponsored by a well-known brand.
