Hi,

Tomorrow is published the provisional entrylist of the Magurski rally, first event of the 2007 polish rallies championship(held on 2nd february) and I've read no news of the polish drivers this year on this forum yet :s

http://www.rajdmagurski.pl

So any news ???

Apart Tomasz Czopik running the championship on VW Polo S2000...any news about GrN, S1600, Puchar Peugeot 206, other S2000s,... ???

qbus
21st January 2007, 20:31
At this moment it looks like it will be NO S1600 in Polish Championschip... sad news.

Tom206wrc
22nd January 2007, 07:28
No program this year for Peugeot Polska ???

I was hoping at least a 207 S2000... :(

Raven
22nd January 2007, 12:21
I hope we will see s1600 cars on polish stages, in other case will be very boring on tarmac rallies, as our drivers are not spectacular at all on this surface :(
As a big fan of FWD cars I keep my fingers crossed!

For now there are almost no news about polish championships. I can only say we will have big comeback of Pawel Dytko (Lancer), the guy that proved (Rally Poland 2006) that he is still veeery quick, even after log break. He is also the originator of team for young guns (two lancers for drivers from second league).
The rest is the same as in 2006, I think. Some rumors about s2000, nothing sure.

Tom206wrc

When do they publish the entrylist for Rajd Magurski ?? They wrote the 22nd january, and still nothing today !!!

I want to know which drivers/cars will be on the 1st event of the 2007 polish championship !!!

Yes, this is entry list for Polish championship:

And this one is for second division championship:

It's snowing over the whole country today!

Tom206wrc
24th January 2007, 10:29
I don't understand why Peugeot Polska don't also enter a 207 S2000 like many other european importers :(

Jarek Z
24th January 2007, 11:18
Nobody knows anything about Peugeot Polska plans for this year. It's not even sure if the Peugeot 206 Trophy will be continued.

But last year Peugeot Polska also didn't compete in Magurski Rally. They were afraid that their Super 1600 cars would be severely beaten in those snow conditions...

Tom206wrc
31st January 2007, 18:55
Finally there are still S1600 cars, Jarek !!! I see Grzegorz Grzyb and another driver on C2 S1600 on Magurski entrylist

But the most interesting on this rally will be the duel Czopik/Lubiak in S2000 cars on snow ;)

Thanks for the link Jarek..

It looks like Czopit have to learn a lot about driving a 4x4 no turbo charged and with a sequential gear box... it looks he is having some "problems" with that... but.. ok.. it was only a test :)

Today in http://www.autoklub.pl and http://www.rallyonline.pl there's an article about Piotr Adamus and Magdalena Zacharko being honoured in Poland, and the article also mentioned the 2007 season for them, but I don't understand the main meaning of the article

Can someone translate it for me ?? :)

EDIT:
http://www.rallyonline.pl/index.php?1&modex=pnews&&s=9691

Jarek Z
20th February 2007, 14:39
Oh, it's nothing important Tom. Adamus and Zacharko were honoured with a third place in the "Sportsman of the Oswiecim land" competition. Despite the smile on Magda's face they still don't know what they will do in 2007. Peugeot Polska still haven't made up their minds about continuing their rally programme.

The sportsman of the year of the Oswiecim region is Ryszard Sarna, a table tennis player. But do you like table tennis?

Tom206wrc
20th February 2007, 18:48
No I don't have any particular interest in table tennis :p :

Thanks for the translation Jarek... ;)

I wish an official 207 S2000 for Piotr and Magdalena they deserve it !!! ;(

7th edition of Mazowiecki Rally will be held in Poland this weekend. It's not a Polish championship round, only a second division rally, but many drivers decided to compete in order to prepare for the second round of Polish championship at the end of April. Main favourites for the overal win are Pawel Dytko and Stefan Karnabal, both driving Mitsubishi Lancers.
You can see the whole entry list here:

Tom206wrc Pawel Dytko changes evo8 to evo9, Solowow begins adventure with Punto S2000, perhaps Kajetanowicz will comeback with Mitsu. Grzegorz Grzyb Swift S1600, he is probably "lone driver" in S1600 class. We excepct few C2 R2 and 206 Cup (last seazon this year)

As HaCo said in one of the other threads this year's Elmot Rally was a real thriller. A suspense at the very end and a sensational winner in the person of Kajetan Kajetanowicz!

Yeah, it was even great to follow it online! A must say: polish rally service online is near-to perfect. With pics uploading during the day and very professional timing system it is really top!

Would love to see some video footage of this rally! :D

The only bad side of the rally was Tomasz Czopik's disappearance from the start. His VW Polo S2000 broke down already on the shakedown :( It's a real shame as Czopik is probably the best driver of all S2000 drivers in Poland. I saw some videos from the shakedown and the Polo looked spectacular! Unfortunately it was a very bad weekend for the whole Rene Georges team as Freddy Loix didn't start his rally in Belgium, too.

The unlucky Polo:

Now we are waiting for Rally Poland, third round of polish championships and fourth of ERC.

Jarek Z
23rd May 2007, 11:55
Last weekend in Northern Poland was held Rally Agapit. It was not a Polish championship round, only a second division rally, but many top drivers competed in order to prepare for the Rally of Poland, that will be held in June. Krzysztof Holowczyc (Subaru Impreza rented from Bernard Munster) won the rally after a fierce battle with local hero Zbigniew Staniszewski (Mitsubishi). Tomasz Kuchar (Subaru) came in third position, but wasn't happy with the settings of his car.

Results:
1. Krzysztof Holowczyc (Subaru)
2. Zbigniew Staniszewski (Mitsubishi) +16,6
3. Tomasz Kuchar (Subaru) +34,6
4. Paweł Dytko (Mitsubishi) +50,8
5. Mariusz Stec (Mitsubishi +1.51,9
6. Maciej Oleksowicz (Subaru) +2.05,8.

Solowow lost so much time, because he stopped at the place where Kuzaj went off the road to see if everything is OK with the crew. The last stage was canceled because of heavy rain, that started when all the drivers were on slick tyres.

There are cancelled time penalties for Grzyb, Frycz and Bebenek so there are changes in classification. Grzyb is second now and has 16 sec. gap to Bouffier. Dytko is fifth.

For me fascinating is that there is only 1 minute gap between first nine drivers. There is no place for mistakes, if you want keep your place. And it 's difficult to provide who will be the winner.

But that wasn't the biggest scandal of the rally. I don't know if you know about it or not, but the rally ended not on Saturday, but on Sunday at 5 AM! A certain very very little man issued a protest against Tomasz Kuchar's car. Kuchar's car was already checked twice this year - on Magurski Rally (winner) and on Elmot Rally (2nd place). On both occasions it turned out that Kuchar's car was crystal clear. This time the judges worked all night to find something and you know what? At 5 AM they found that Kuchar's car is as clear as an azure sky of deepest summer.

Do you know who issued the protest?

That's because you don't understand Polish. Kuzaj has been famous for strange explanations of his accidents for years here. It's not even funny anymore. Do you know what he said after his big crash on Rally Poland? That he went off the road, because he didn't know this stage by heart!
And which driver learns stages by heart?!
By the way, in one of the recent interviews Kuzaj said that he had a headache for two weeks after this accident.

Yes, they found Kuchar's car to be perfectly clear and Subaru Poland team (which means: Kuzaj) had to pay for the whole operation.

Kuzaj has never been a gentleman. You should have heard his fantastic theories when he was losing the battle against Kulig and Holowczyc a few years ago. But that being said, I have to admit he's a very fast driver (when he stays and the road of course :) )

Anyway, from more important news, the next round of Polish championship starts this Saturday. Tomasz Kuchar, whose engine, as you remember, was literally disassembled to pieces after the last rally, didn't have time for the revision of this engine. He usually sends his engines for the revision to Belgium and 2 weeks were no enough to do it. Kuchar will drive on a spare engine in his car.

According to online results unofficial final standings in Lotos Baltic Cup:
1st: Gabrys
2nd: Bebenek +6.3 s
3rd: Bouffier +10.8

Without time penalty for Bouffier (+30 s) it's easy to say that at present he is unstoppable for polish drivers except the Bouffier mistakes or car damage. However, level of polish rallyes has risen up with Bryan presence on our stages ;)

This is what happens when driver with no real skills drives the car that he can't control...

It will be a nice battle for the podium.

It will be very hard for Grzyb keep the 2nd place.

It's raining...

I think it will be very difficult for Solowow try to catch Bebenek.. he don't have experience with S2000 in wet conditions...

I think that Ruta drives the car that was previously used by Krum Donchev. Take a look:

Yes, Grzyb has already dropped down to 4th place. It is very difficult to drive a FWD car in such conditions. He said that sometimes the road is wet and sometimes dry and he never knows what the best tyre choice for the next stage is.

The next rally for Grzyb is Barum, but I don't know if he will drive Suzuki or Mitsubishi.

And where is Leszek?

And as far as Alen is concerned, he didn't show much in Czech Republic. But gravel is a completely different story...

For me Alén was very nice surprise on Barum's specific brutal tarmac. He was both reasonably fast and spectacular. And he was very fast especialy on Pindula which is usualy frightening for those who drive through it for the first time... like as for Vouilloz :) . He was there 3rd (+7s) and 4th (+5s)! That mistake he made on stage nine could happen very easy, as we saw on onboard he lost control on a lose gravel and went off road but it looked like there was no big damage.

Of course he's one of the favourites here on gravel but I think we can't put him aside on tarmac too.

Kuzaj finally got the finish line this year... he should be happy... :D

Lubiak done his best rally this year, very well... rd overall it's a fantastic result for him.

Bebenek, had to change a wheel in stage SS 12 and lost a lot of time... then he retired taken advantage of super rally system...

Kuchar retired with problems in the last stage.

Grzyb achive here a fantastic result... winner of 2 wheel drive cars, and 6th overall, very good for him.

Why GUZEK did not start the first stage with the Punto ? i heard he did the prologue stage and after stop ?? anybody know the reason ?

The reason was that the clutch in Guzek's Punto broke down before the start of the rally.
The Punto that he was supposed to drive is the same car that Roman Odlozilik drove on Barum Rally:
http://www.rallyonline.pl/ft.php?idg=2523&pg_[go]=20

Somebody was right here, that Guzek was driving Suzuki Swift not so long ago, but it was only a show for his sponsors, not a real rally.

Jarek Z
9th September 2007, 19:14
And yes, Lubiak made a big progress in this rally! I could see with my own eyes, that he was driving much faster and cleaner, than he did in previous rallies. And there were no problems with the car, finally.

But congratulations go to Bryan Bouffier, who is already 2007 Polish Rally Champion. He can celebrate the title, because engine broke down in Kuchar's car on the very last stage, right in front of my eyes.

I will post some photos for you next week, now I'm too tired to do anything. Don't watch any photos until I post mine!!! ;)

Mirek: Bouffier also noticed something about mysterious holes in his tyre at Nikon, probably I got my feeling because of article describing Bryan´s puncture.

Jarek: Similar case happened also in our republic few years ago. At Rally Bohemia 2001 somebody threw nails right in front of Octavia WRC driven by Bruno Thiry. The Belgian suffered double puncture and lost 90 seconds. Until this accident he was fighting for 1st position with Roman Kresta, who finally won the competition. Both of them were running the same cars of manufacture team Škoda Motorsport.

I can not understand behaviour of person, who did this, but on the other hand I can imagine, that this unusually thinking person can do anything in favour of his favourite and to annul his favourite´s opponents. And I still think, that both of these cases are veeeery similar.

Raven
10th September 2007, 15:00
We have these "nails" or "hedgehos" for the second time (in different places in Poland) and in both cases these actions look too professional. I'm afraid that this is done not by some stupid spectators. I still can't believe it's real and really don't know what to think about that... :(

Filip
10th September 2007, 18:49
This looks very bad and it's lucky that nobody got killed.
There was also a similar case last year on Rally Bohemia I think when someone spilled an oil canister and few cars crashed at that spot.Horrible!

Timole

GTA
11th September 2007, 22:49
some people do not understand the danger they create by putting these things on the road or stones or Oil !! .... really stupid, and i do not think it is just some spectators.. these things were put at certain times for certain cars to drive over them and loose time or retire... let the drivers fight fair on the stages and enjoy rallying when it is still possible.
