I must say that it was quite surprising to see Kuchar wining the event...

In a recent past Kuchar was never fast enough to be on the top, but... in Elmot he proved that he still fast on Polish road...

I agree with you Jarek.. Kuzi was quite disappointing on this first event with Skoda...

It was an unusual situation for Kuzaj... he didn't won the rally, but he finish it!
Kuzaj is the driver... or win the event or destroy the car :p :

Anyway, great too performance by Kajetanovic

But the latest 2010 spec Subaru from Symtech is competing in this rally as well. It's in the hands of Krzysztof Oleksowicz (Maciej Oleksowicz's father), but he is a very slow driver, currently in 22nd position.
Here some details in Polish:

Rajd Warminski, a round of Polish Rally Cup, will be held on May 28-29 in Northern Poland. Because this rally is held on gravel not far from the stages of Rally Poland, many drivers will use it as a test session before the 3rd ERC round. Holowczyc, Kuchar and Staniszewski are already present on temporary entry list:
http://www.rajdwarminski.pl/2010/lista-zgloszen

In the meantime, Luca Rossetti is trying to organize budget for Rally of Poland. Good luck to him! :)

Raven: Will be again SS Browar live?

Raven
29th July 2010, 12:28
There is no Browar special stage, because the rally has another sponsor. Last year it was Karpackie Rajd Rzeszowski. Karpckie is a beer and browar = Brewery, so you understand :)
I don'y know if any special stage is live on tv, sorry.

I hope Skoda Poland will find another driver, after all this could not be so difficult, because they should have an enormus bad luck to find even worse driver as Lesek....Honestly, Kuzaj did not show nothing special in last few years, except some attractive accidents.
As I'm not emotionally tied to Polish championship-I'm yust an observer and I was for the last years always amazed about top-cars driven by Kuzaj, but at the end of the seasons no results....
Jarek explained to me some monts ago that Kuzaj is the last of the trio Holowczyc&Kulig, but also his time has passed.....

Raven

The last and the worst, but when Kuzaj will finish his career it will be the end of an era in polish rallying.
I hope Skoda will continue their programme, but the problem is lack of a top driver, I only can think of Bebenek, Grzyb and maybe (big maybe) Frycz.

I hope they decide to give a chance for Bebenek. In my opinion he is very good driver, you sad Frycz - if they give him a chance they can go back to Czech Republic. We will see at next rally who drive in Skoda Poland.

Dear Urabus! This year's Polish championship consists of 8 rounds. Six best rounds count for the final classification of the season.
Both remaing rallies - Rally Kosice and Dolnoslaski Rally will be held on tarmac, which I think is better for Solowow than for Kajto. Kosice may be especially interesting, because those are stages uknown to our drivers. I think that only Kajto and Solowow will fight for the title. Bouffier is concentrated on French championship and Kuchar is not fast enough.

They both in the same place made big slides, stopped and had some problems to back cars to the right direction. Probably Bouffier had also some problems with gearbox, cause he lost more time. There was a lot of spectators there so I expect there will be some photos or films from it.

I don't know if you already know it or not, but Kajetan Kajetanowicz is not a Subaru Poland driver anymore. In 2011 he will be replaced by just 21-year-old Wojciech Chuchala. Chuchala doesn't have experience in Polish championship. This year he won Polish Trophy (second league championship) driving Honda Civic Type R. Subaru Poland chose him and want to support him in his further career.

Kajto is trying to organize his own team.

Kajetanowicz will probably build his own team with support of Dynamic. They will use Subaru from TMR.
Chuchala is promising driver, but unexperienced in top 4wd car. He will have to bring his money into team as far as I know. Subaru Poland announced that Chuchala will have 3 years plan in the team.

The bit stronger beers! The ones I really love. I recommend Leffe Brown and then Grimbergen Brown, don't like blonde beers too much. If u come to Belgium again u need to taste the real abbaye beers! U come to Ypres? Then u could go to West Vleteren ! The 12° one is great !

Kahle's Octavia WRC broke down. After winning all 6 stages, Bouffier leads the rally in front of Kajetanowicz, who loses 26 seconds to the Frenchman. Antoher 6 stages on Sunday.

Yes, it's quite a famous story here in Poland. It was even described in newspapers outside of the rally world. This driver, called Ogryzek, was doing quite well in the Lausitz Cup classification, before this crazy accident happened. It's even worse than Scandola's accident in Ypres a few years back! They are lucky that they survived. The fire brigade couldn't get the car out of water for two days. Unfortunately this rally car, after two days under water, is now only a piece of trash...

Last weekend M-Sport organized test session of their newest car Ford Fiesta S2000 1.6T (also known as Ford Fiesta RRC (Regional Rally Car)). The drivers were Michal Solowow and Matthew Wilson. The test session was organized in southern Poland, on the former stages of the Rally of Poland. According to M-Sport, the new Fiesta will have its official debut in Poland, but it wasn't specified where and when exactly.

And how did Solowow comment on the test?

He said that suspension feels similar, you can drive on lower revs and higher gears, the car is less agressive and better in handling compared to S2000.

And Maciek Baran said that this new Fiesta reminds him of the old group A cars.

Any info about the time difference of the S2000 and RRC?

Yes, i have info that rrc was slower than S2000. source is trusted. also this source said me that solowow bought new fiesta rrc. i don't know how long was the stage where they tested but rumors talking about 2 seconds for S2000.

OldF

That’s very surprising result. I would have thought that the RRC would have been faster because of the higher torque, and therefore more power at lower revs, and better acceleration out of tighter corners.

Remember that Solowow knows Fiesta S2000 very well and RRC is a new car for him. That's probably the reason of worse times.

yes you are right this is i think one of the reasons bad condition fiesta on this test.

It's for me not so surprising everyone said for the Mini that it would be difficult to be faster than the top S2000 like it was in Ypres with Snijers because of the lack of HP thanks to 30 mm restrictor. Every mm let you win 16.6 HP I think.

Mirek

The dependence is exponential as area is what counts ;) But anyway I agree that with 30 mm it can hardly be faster, maybe on gravel.

RRC first rally in this weekend on Rajd Rzeszowski. Driver is of course Michal Solowow ;)

Rajd Rzeszowski starts this Saturday. The drivers, that will be missing on the start list are:
Leszek Kuzaj (nr 10, due to ear infection),
Oleksij Tamrazow (11),
Tomasz Czopik (16, he wants to stop competing in traditional rallies and switch to Dakar Rally instead),
Bogdan Bożyk (26),
Roman Grendel (27),
Marek Spavelko (47).

The fastest driver on shakedown was Jaroslav Melicharek (Mitsubishi Lancer WRC). The crew Tomasz Żerebecki i Ewa Rybko (Citroen C2) had an accident and lost a wheel. The driver is in hospital, but he should be OK very soon.

Manfred Stohl is present on the rally. His team takes care of the car for Maciej Rzeznik. The TRT team, that Rzeznik usually hires, is busy on Madeira now.

Béreš is extremely slow now. Does anyone know why?

First of all, when was he fast? ;)
But you are right, today he is even slower than usual. Unfortunately, I don't know why.

Grzyb went off into a ditch on a dirty 90-degree corner. End of the rally for him. Solowow had a puncture. If Rzeznik stays in the second place, it will be his best result of the whole career!
