What would happen if a Dallara (or even a Panoz) was driven on a dirt track? It's heavier, less powerful, and has a longer wheelbase than a sprint car; but it's also lower with more downforce. Would it be slower or faster? Would it fishtail less in the turn? Would fishtail straight into the wall?

The world may never know.

Aero probably has nothing to do with it, because I doubt the car ever gets fast enough for any aero to come into play. About one corner, and the suspension would be spaghetti.

The basic chassis MIGHT be ok for a dirt track - but noting else about the car would work. You would need more clearance to get through the ruts. You would need steel suspension (I think) to absorb the shock better. You would have to do something about the wings otherwise the guy in back would probably be blinded by the rooster tail of dirt/mud...

That being said, I would love to see someone take an old Indycar or some sort and give it a try - what the heck.....
