Will be interesting to see if Hawkswood will even be seen when they show edited highlights on the TV. So far the main stream media has ignored him because he wasn't a registered NZRC driver.

Looks like it's going to be a very competitive season, the pointy end of the field looks like one of the strongest for years... Mason showing amazing speed as always; Tapper back in 4WD and going very well; West back with a full season; Paddon not having the best result in the new LHD but will certainly be charging at Otago.
Thomas, Taylor, Martin & McInness showing very good early season form. Gilmour looks to have regained a lot of confidence as well but had technical problems during Wairarapa. Very early DNFs of charger Sumner and reigning NZ champ Murray was unfortunate. Hopefully not too much damage and they will be back on the pace at round 2.

The future looks good as well with a bunch of teenagers competing in the main class as well... 18 year olds Kristy Nelson, Brad Ayling, Andre Meier and 16 year old Sloan Cox coming home with 10th overall and 8th in the NZRC.
