DTM Race Driver 2 - help needed

I bought this today, tried to install on Vista, and refuses to start. It keeps on saying that I need XP/ME/2000/98/... anything but Vista. Is there any way to make it run on Vista, or is it just hopeless?

but if you go to the codemasters forums there's always helpful people there.

you might try the trd2 section instead of the dtm2 section - the trd2, or even trd3 still gets a lot of traffic

I've already had a look there, all threads about vista don't receive a reply.

I came across a German site, where someone said he'd mailed Codemasters to ask if it was compatible with Vista, and the reply he got was "no, and we don't intend to create a patch so it will be compatible". Crap :(

trd2 was created before vista was released, even if beta stages of development possibly. So theres no chance that trd2 will work on vista. And since codemasters are working on promoting Grid and ps3 and other future console games, it would be a waste of money and resources to develop and 'old' game for a newer pc.

I have the original Toca Touring Cars game - like, the 1996 (or 97, ?) game and I need Windows 95, 98 or ME to run it :( I have XP :(
