Hi,
Next week is the famous first rally of all seasons french tarmac rallies championship, the Lyon-Charbonnières... ;)
Most of the drivers running the rally this year are already on the entrylist(not with starting numbers yet)...
Official page:
http://www.asarhone.com/v21/Charbonnieres/Charbonnieres.htm
Link to entrylist:
http://www.asarhone.com/v21/Charbonnieres/2008/Engages.htm
I'm afraid this year it'll be easy for David Salanon to win the event, as most of the WRC drivers will be "gentlemen"(absence of 2007 rivals Henry and Cuoq) :mark:
The Trophée BFGoodrich(ex-Trophée Michelin)could be also easy for Eric Mauffrey(absence of 2007 rival Rouillard)...
Let's wait and see how the rally occures...

So Tom, no S2000 on the entry list or am i mistaken  I see that Terrien is on entry list with Fiat Grande Punto but it says that it is Gr A car?? :o A bit strange for a championship in Pug-land, isn't it? ;)

Only one S2000, Ludovic Gal will drive one of the 207 from Yacco/BSA ;)
Normally Arnaud Augoyard was entered with the Grande Punto S2000 of Automeca team but strangely on today's entrylist update he's with a 306 Maxi
Edit: Terrien drives a Grande Punto JTD(diesel) ;)

French Tarmac championship is a little bit poor this year...
Is this the result of some financial difficulties we found in the most European countries ???

9th April 2008, 23:07
The Jean-Marie Cuoq affair of last year should play a rule too on what happens this season

Entrylist is now available with starting order/number ;)
Great news Arnaud Augoyard will run the entire tarmac championship/BFGoodrich trophy with the 306 Maxi :D
By the way as usual the live-results will be on http://www.patricksoft.fr ;)

According to serviceparknews.com it will be nobody less than Sebastien Loeb who will be driving the "zero" car in Lyon-Charbonières. It was Loeb himself that proposed to drive it, he decided this when he was in Argentina and phoned to the organisers to tell them. :p :

Salanon takes allready the lead after super special stage, as expected. :D

18th April 2008, 18:22
Fastest time again for Salanon on ss2. Looks like he is cruising easily to victory allready. ;)
Tom206wrc
18th April 2008, 18:44
It was expected, but careful, rally is still long... ;)
It was also quite expected that kit-cars of the BFGoodrich trophy would be fastest behind Salanon(Mauffrey in the 306, Marty in the Megane)...nothing new
Surprises though are Vigion in the Clio Maxi but also Bayle(the ex-motocross champion!!)and Augoyard both discovering their 306s with great time in SS2 :D

18th April 2008, 19:45
Another fastest time for Salanon on stage 3, so at the end of day 1 he is in the lead before Mauffrey at 27"4 and Marty at 34"5. ;)
Tom206wrc
18th April 2008, 20:02
Yeah...end of leg 1 ;)
Tomorrow will be very very long leg :mark:
Note that it's raining sometimes there and many drivers chose the wrong tyres... :s

19th April 2008, 09:53
Salanon again fastest on stage four, but Snobeck takes second overall now with his whale. :D
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 10:31
Salanon takes also stage 5, in front of Snobeck, so no changes at all at this rally for the moment.

Retirement with mechanical problem for Jean-Michel Bayle ;(
Also Laurent Carbonaro in his "turkmenish whale" retired because he had big technical problem with his power steering since yesterday and couldn't find any solution to repair :mark:
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 12:39
And another two fastest times for Salanon on stage's 6 & 7, increasing his lead constantly on Snobeck.

19th April 2008, 13:09
Look at the superb duels in the Trophée BFGoodrich after SS7 !!!!
Eric Mauffrey less than 1s ahead of Olivier Marty(both fighting also for an overall podium position)...
Gilles Nantet in the Porsche GT less than three seconds ahead the 306 Maxi drivers Yves Pezzuti and Bruno Longépé...
Let's hope gaps remain very small after the five remaining stage of the rally :D :D
Tom206wrc
19th April 2008, 13:46
Eric Mauffrey finally retired with gearbox problem ;(
We go toward a Renault 1-2 in BFGoodrich trophy(Marty, Vigion)
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 14:54
So, with four stages to go:
1. Salanon
2. Snobeck at 1'45"6
3. Marty at 2'25"0
4.Vigion at 3'02"1
5. Brunson at 3'15"7
Then it is very close untill 11th position, where drivers are just seperated by a couple of seconds. :D
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 16:25
Marty lost a lot of time on stage 9 and dropped back to fifth overall.
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 17:12
Marty looses again about 3,5 minutes at stage 10. With two stages to go it is offcourse Salanon still in the lead, with Snobeck second. For the fourth place there is a big battle going on. Vigeon is actually fourth but Augoyard is only half a second behind him and Nantet in his Porsche is only 2"4 behind. ;)
wwbroe
19th April 2008, 19:43
What happened with Salanon on stage 11, he is not in the results. So now Snobeck is in the lead with his whale.

Rally Lyon Charbonières is finished, i don't know what happened with Salanon but he seems to be out of rally. Final standings:
1. Snobeck
2. Brunson at 1'18"1
3. Augoyard at 1'41"4
4. Nantet a 1'50"8
5. Pezzutti at 2'30"1

Off road toward the start of SS11 !!!! He had more than 2 minutes advantage over Snobeck ;(
Congratulations to Arnaud Augoyard !!! For an almost first with the 306 Maxi and an absence of 1 year on tarmac(he ran a Clio R3 on gravel in 2007), he wins the first round of the BFGoodrich trophy and hets an overall podium :bounce:
Even Gilles Nantet in his Porsche(4th overall, 2nd of the BFGoodrich trophy)couldn't believe his eyes about Augoyard resistance :D
