I see http://www.flickr.com now allows you to upload 90 second videos, which is nice!

www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com) allows over 30 minute videos...

But flickr is not youtube. Flickr is primarily a photography website, which also now allows short video clips.

I thought the feature has been available for some time, at least a friend of mine who does some research on this subject told me last year to try it. I didn't find the feature then and thought it was just well hidden. :)

I might have to give it a try.

No it was just implemented today. I personally think it's great, I've quite often taken short clips and had to keep them seperate from all my other photos.

You should see the flickr forums though, they are going totally crazy with people protesting against the idea. Quite why they can't just not use the video feature I'm not sure..

I love flickr but I doubt I'd ever use a video application. I suppose it might come in useful one day though. :)

I really rate Flickr. Easy to use and the photos look good which is most important.

Not sure about video, much rather use Youtube, especially as 90 seconds isn't particularly long. Good for short motorsport clips though

Their idea is that of "long photos" in such that they are not supposed to be full length edited videos but a short capture of a scene the same as a photo. For example I took some pictures behind a waterfall and still images didn't really convey what it was like. but the 10 second video I took did. Now its not worth putting a 10 second video on youtube but sitting alonside the pictures of the same waterfall on flickr is perfect!

isn't the flickr video only available to those who are paid up members?

That makes total sense when you say it like that :)
