Hi

I've just seen the results at this moment, and at wrc.com I can see the following results at SS2:

1. 98 M. SILVA 14:07.2 0.0 0.0
2. 4 M. HIRVONEN 14:07.5 0.3 0.3
3. 3 M. GRÖNHOLM 14:09.5 2.0 2.3
4. 7 P. SOLBERG 14:11.6 2.1 4.4
5. 1 S. LOEB 14:12.6 1.0 5.4

Are this results true? I can't believe that the home man Miguel Silva, with the absolutely private Ford Fiesta could take the best time... Please, tell me that it's just a fake of the championship website.

By the way, good battle between Marcus and Seb for tomorrow.

Here is one. If I read this correctly, it covers most of the day (Friday), and I can see that the rain is heading East from Portugal.

Surely an error ... see his other times in the next SS (even more than 5 min behind stage winner).

Meanwhile there are some rumors about Gigi not being very "jovial" (wrc.com uses this word) in the interviews at the end of the day. The confirm also on italian TV on Studio Sport. But I don't know the details ^^
I understand he's very disappointed by now, but there is something that maybe he knows and can't say. Maybe some bad choose on the setup of the car/tyres to use and it was not his decision. Who knows ! :\

From racingworld.it (it seems he did an interview afterall): ""I've tried to drive clean and constant without taking too much risks. The feeling with the car is ok, but the times are not ok. The stages were very ruined in the second run ! Now we will look at the suspensions ... trying to get more traction. But we will see tomorrow if any improvement".

Too bad the Impreza is not up to it, I'm pretty sure Petter has driven very, very well - if you compare his times vs. Atko, he's almost 50 secs faster. Much, much more than the second drivers in Ford and Cit.

This rally is showing that there is still marked difference between Hirvonen and Marcus.

I have some interesting memories about muddy stages. 2004 in rally of Turkey there was hugely muddy section in one stage and Grönholm lost the game for Solberg totally in that section. Now, things seems to be conversely. In 2004 Grönholm's Peugeot's unbalance was highlited in those conditions and now Subarus early non-ideal set-up is probably playing some part in Petter's time deficit.

I think he should have retired from WRC (=back in national championship or taking a PWRC or Gr N car or whatever ...) after that SSS win last year, storic win for younger driver ever (luck or not he won it ^^), and then seeing he can't win a rally doing another 3 years of learning in slower classes.
