SS1 running :bounce:
Mirek
11th April 2008, 15:57
SS1 is circuit stage. Were fast, not technical so the results are very close. It is dry and nice weather (almost 20°C).
Mirek
11th April 2008, 16:09
Václav Arazim is said to have changed the wheel. If it is true than he might brake his own record because he was in finish in +1:32 to Kresta :D
Tom206wrc
11th April 2008, 16:11
Good time from Olodzilik :bounce:
Average time for Petak, though :mark:
Mirek
11th April 2008, 16:12
This stage means nothing, the real rally starts on stage 2... Anyway Odložilík is fast but often crashes (and he has evo 2 Pug). I hope he reaches the finish.
Mirek
11th April 2008, 17:39
Stage 2 is even faster :( 126 km/h for Kresta. Way too much even for S2000...
Tom206wrc
11th April 2008, 17:44
Olodzilik slower than Petŕk on SS2... :mark:
Mirek
11th April 2008, 18:14
Stage 2 stopped. Rescue team on stage after Daniel Landa's roll. Don't have more information...
And another crash on stage 3 - Gavlák, stage stopped.
Tom206wrc
11th April 2008, 18:25
Oh no it starts with incidents :mark:
Mirek
11th April 2008, 18:37
So, Daniel Landa was unconscious in the moment after the big crash. He was taken to the hospital for further medical inspection. It should be quite ok...
There were two crashes in almost the same time on stage 3. Votava and Gavlák...
Tom206wrc
11th April 2008, 18:38
Apparently SS4 is running

Both stages 2 and 3 cancelled. 2 for about a half of the crews but 3 for almost all of them except the top...
Mirek
11th April 2008, 20:04
This is realy the worst possible way... stage 5 cancelled after a crash. It is third from five :(

Is it the conditions, the roads or the drivers? Or just bad luck that 3 out of 5 stages have been stopped after accidents?
Mirek
11th April 2008, 21:14
It was sunny today but the roads are dirty after the winter and somewhere wet in the woods. Stages were very fast today and often very narrow. Sumava used to be a winter rally until this season. But I don't think that is the main reason. The true thing for me is that we have huge competition (about 40 N4 on every rally) this year and when 20 or more drivers are fighting for every second for whole rally, some of them just make mistakes. We expected some crashes sooner but on Valasska rally all top 18 start numbers reached finish which. It was quite unbeliavable...
Valclav Arazim retired (gearbox)
Roman Odložilík was in a ditch for few seconds
Mirek
11th April 2008, 21:55
Pavel Valoušek lost 30 seconds on stage 7 and he reported big vibrations and handling problems on service. He said they didn't know the problem :(
Filip
11th April 2008, 22:07
That's bad news :( , his bad luck continues, I hope he can make it to the end of the day. And Pech managed to beat Kresta on ss8, very good fight.
Mirek
11th April 2008, 22:13
Good news. All who were taken to a hospital suffered fortunately only minor injuries.
Filip
11th April 2008, 22:23
That's good. ;) Do you know what happened to Odložilik on ss8?
Mirek
11th April 2008, 22:31
Vaclav Pech made a mistake and lost a wheel on stage 9. He is out for today at least.
Mirek
11th April 2008, 22:48
For Tom ;) ... in fact I don't like Odložilík's colours.

2s between Olodzilik and Petak at the end of the leg(both in top 10)...maybe an S2000 fight for tomorrow :)
Edit: thanks Mirek :D
Filip
11th April 2008, 22:56
:D Me neither, but at least they look better on Pug than on Punto.
Can Pech continue tommorow under superrally?
Mirek
11th April 2008, 23:03
Filip: I'm not sure since the rulles are different than last year. At least he can fight for bonus points from second leg (9-6-4-1).
Another crash from top 10 on stage 9. Jan Jelínkek crashed. He tried to continue but it wasn't possible.
Mirek
12th April 2008, 07:01
Pech is not going to start today because we count best 6 of 9 results. Few points would be good for nothing.

unfortunatley the rally was decided very early. Roman Kresta has played very high and we saw the consequences on his contenders. In nowadays I guess the only man can stop him in the Czech championship should be Jan Kopecky, sometimes V Pech and M Prokop. I'm wrong?

Number 73, Jin Volf, who was fifth overall after 13 stage's seems to have hit problems on stage 14. Who is this driver, he seems to be going quite well and has a bad entrynumber (73). But he was fifth overall so i would suspect him to be really fast? Can anyone of our Tsjech collegues answer my question maybe? ;)

So, finished and easy win once more for Kresta. Second came Trojan at 2'42"4, third Valousek at 3'09"0, fourth Stajf at 3'26"5 and finally fifth Pétak at 4'53"8. Another easy victory for Kresta. ;)

Volf isn't a bad driver. He is quite fast but often crashes. He had that number because he was an additional entry. His starting possition was somewhere around 15-20. He retired after some technical issue.

I've just returned from SS11, 12, 14. Odložilík had some engine problem. It looked like he was on 3 cylinders.

There will be photos and videos of huge crash of Szabo today. It was on stage where there is the jump on the video. He had a crisis with wrong dumper settings after the jump there. In the second run it was in opposite direction and he broke a tree there. Fortunately without injury...
Pavel Valoušek was veeery unlucky again. Yesterday he had problems with the car, today he had problems with the car. He had broken driveshaft (stage 10,11) and central differential (12-14).

Nice video's Mirek, but it looks like the stages are very fast and not so technical, maybe that is why Gr. N cars are doing it so well over there, because their higher maximum speed. A S2000 car has not that high maximum speed (i think about max 180 Km/h). Is that just an idea of me or do you think the same? :o

Well the main reason is that the top guys (Kresta,Pech,Valoušek) stay with group N.

The stages from onboards in my point of wiev :)
SS1 is definitely too straight. It is just an opener of the rally, some tradition for spectators for dozens of years...
SS2 is also very fast but You can see that there are only two places (I think) where Peták is in rpm limiter with 207 (top speed 167 on short - tarmac gearbox). I would say the stage is quite dangerous because of many hi-speed horizonts which are very hard. Maybe strange but I like it...
SS3 is definitely the best one of these. It is technical (we have no Italian-like stages here) and very very difficult in my opinion. There are many realy hard places there.
SS11 is again very fast.
Urabus: You've got the point ;)

I think yes because it didn't seem to be that much damaged. It looked like going on three cylinders but still movable. It was definitely engine problem.
