That's a decent entry list (as could be expected from an Italian Championship round). And nice to see Pasi Hagström (1999 Finnish Rally Champion) back in action.

Yes... nice to see Hagström again in competition... he has been "disappeared" since 2001...
And nice to see Aghini in the entry.. I was thinking that the last accident he had could be the finish of his career...

Do you have any more news about Andreucci, did he abandone? Seems like only Rosetti is capable of following Longhi in the stagetimes.

No time for Hagstrom on SS2  . Does anybody know what happened with him, his time on SS1 wasn't that good neither.

Hagstrom is doing the Subaru Cup and in fact no news, maybe bad news...!

It looks Hagstrom had not any problem in SS2 only problems with results system...

Longhi seems to be fastest again on SS4, but no signs of Rosetti. Anybody have any more news?
wwbroe
28th March 2008, 13:59
I also noticed that Longhi is about 2'15" slower in second run trough this stage. First stage 12'05" and now in second run 14'20". What about weather conditions over there?
wwbroe
28th March 2008, 14:03
Something is definitely wrong with the timing-service. Now all of a sudden it is Rosetti with the top time and Longhi and others are now at 2 min. Hard to believe, allthough this time of Rosetti is about the same time as first run. The results are certainly not very reliable!!!!
wwbroe
28th March 2008, 14:45
They finally got the times right, so after stage 5 it is still Longhi in charge, ahead of Rosetti and Cantamezza. Also Hagstrom is improving a lot second run trough the stages.

Yeah Haco, a real interesting battle at the front. These two are the only ones fighting for victory though, because the rest is quite far behind them now. It is strange that Gr. N seems to be faster then S2000, but it was also the case in first rally (Ciocco) :o

Last year Ucci won in his Mitsu in San Marino... I think the Punto's are quite far behind. Pitty Travaghlia is out, he was faster than Navarra.

Rosetti takes the last stage win of the day by 0,3 sec of Longhi. The top three stays the same: Longhi, Rosetti and Navarra. Great battle going on tomorrow?

Yes.. great battle for 1st place tomorrow.
I would like to understand why last Year Subaru was always off the pace.. and this year with the same car.. they ar the feastest.... interesting.

Well, I'm observing CIR for many years very closley-comparison between S2000 and N4: last year Ciocco, race was in rain-winner was Ucci with Lancer N4,last year S.Marino-gravel, winner was Longhi with Suby, last year Targa Florio, first day rain-winner was Ucci again, last year San Crispino-gravel,winner Ucci again, last year San Remo, leader after first day in rain Ucci. This year winner on Ciocco in havey rain Longh with old suby N12b, he is also leading gravel stages in San Marino...What kind of proof do you want more???If the conditions are slipery, than N4 car with a top-driver is as least fast as S2000. It is yust shame for S2000 driver when they win on dry tarmac and they are very proud of this...For me personaly this is not something especaly, because S2000 has at least a 1sec/km advantage on dry tarmac against N4 car. But, when are conditions changed and the driver must show also his knowledge and not yust car's advantages, than we have different story...So, for me personaly the true drivers are Andreucci and Longhi !

Rosetti took the first stage of the day, but on the second one he lost 22"1 to Longhi, so Longhi has now a good lead of just over half a minute. Navarra still stays in third position.

Yes, that's true. And now, after San Marino, Longhi is leading the championship (15 points) ahead of Rossetti. Well done Piero!!!
But the next rally is the famous Mille Miglia on April 19. It's also the second round of European Championship. In this rally Super 2000 cars are usually faster than group N and Longhi will have to fight very hard if he wants to stay ahead of Rossetti...

I agree with you in some opinions.. but..
I was asking... how it's possible they do better results with an old car.. in comparinson with last year? because last year.. even in bad conditions.. both Subaru drivers.. Aghini and Longhi were always far from the lead...
They developed the Imprezas N12 B? they solved some old problems? I know that Longhi, Andreucci, Aghini, Travaglia etc etc are really good drivers.. no matter the car.

Now that they finally developed N12 they can just cut off the trunk and continue, can't they? :D

When will the N14 arrive for the Subaru Team Italy?
They already received the N14 Subaru. They did not want to take some risks before they can resolve some problems of reliability that the new cars have showed in previous tests of this season... they had some electrical problems.

Answer for Jarek Z: Dallavilla is still traying to find budget for S2000 car, about Dati-last year winner of Subaru Impreza Cup in Italiy-still quiet at this time.
Piero Longhi showed again his capabilies, he is at the moment Italian's Loeb...I think, that he will pray every day for the rain on Mille Miglia, because this is only way on tarmac to be in front of Rossetti or Travaglia, maybe Perico or Navarra...No matter if he will seat in suby N12B or N14. So again, well done Piero.
P.S.Did you noticed Mateo Gamba in this race?? He was last year a team-collegge of Andreucci. He will drive this year a clio R3, he was the fastest in San Marino(normaly!!) between front driven cars.
