Gronholm's Focus is the most boring to watch and listen to of the whole lot!

Pity he still has a Ford contract, would have been good to see him in a 207.

No that is a private team set up in Sweden by Andreas Ericsson, with support from Ford Sweden. There has not been a works team in Rally Cross as such since Volvo had it in late 70s early 80s. Grønholm is just doing this for fun !

So many drivers have hited on the path, and I don't know if they suffered any damage on the wheel or in the suspension of their cars...Rossetti, Bruno Magalhães, Hanninen, Auriol were some of them

Strange that the well financed Aigner RED BULL team has not got themselves a S2000 for IRC, also to prepare for the future.

The difference btw GrN and S2000 is easy to spot, and driving your socks off for a place well down the order can not be motivating, when you know that as a driver you have potential to be in the top !

Now it is clear that Group N car can not compete on the same level than S2000 cars (at least not on the these type of roads).

FIA has to do something with the gr.N/S2000 rules to balance the speed difference between these two type of the cars..

They are competing in the same class..!That is the reason. Mitsubishi and Subaru are not supporting or developing group N cars anymore if their cars are not able to match the speed of S2000 cars...

Mirek
9th May 2008, 12:12
But that is a problem of having them in one class. As I always say, that is nonsence but slowing down the S2000 by more minimal weight etc. is even bigger nonsence.

Or call them what they are N4 and R4. To start doing something to slow down one or speed up the other is stupid. It has always been two different types of cars. Calling a S2000 for a N type car does not add up !!!!

if kopecky looses the time in sjj´s dust its realy stupid. like i said before, if he would drive slower, he would be overtaken for shure. thats pretty unfair to kopecky and i guess its not in sjj´s sense too...

anyways, duval seems to be faster now. stage best time so far.

what happened to loix? pretty good split and then lost about 3 minutes :(

Everyone slower than Dudu :s

I guess the rain has something to do with that

Darkstar: As I said Kopecky can't lose anything behind JJ now as there were more than minute in the finish separating them (after 20km). They start in 2 minutes gaps.

Unbelievable but true, rain in Portugal.

Seeing the images on tv, Simon is not a problem for Kopecky!
Loix has stopped on the stage and is unclear for now the reason, but is almost sure it was a puncture...
Rossetti blamed about his tyre choice too hard.
For Duval this time his road position was an advantage, he did not find rain...
Vouilloz no grip!

Is it not a normal 2ltr engine. They do not have that many bits on them that will make a major effect loss.

Sparkplugs
injection
cables

More ?

So many problems for him. For portuguese championship each day counts as a rally.

Auriol hit something and had some damage on the rear side of his car.

Had it been so much happening in the top of a WRC round......

On Norwegian Eurosport we had Henning Solberg as a expert commentator via phone, he was impressed by the cars - and said they looked fun to drive. He knows many of the drivers, both the more guest type drivers, and regular IRC drivers.
He said that Vouilloz is world champion in downhill off road cycling - demanding sport with a lot of coordination involved

His tip was that Duval would have an extra gear tomorrow in the closing stages, even if this is his first experience with the S2000, and on gravel. Lets see !

Mirek
9th May 2008, 21:28
Sulland: Duval already did Condroz rally in Punto S2000 last year and won it (after retirement of leading Loix) ;)
