View Full Version : Sebastien Ogier gets points on WRC debut
Trivino finally excluded after much deliberation. So is this some kind of WRC record as Ogier gets point on debut.

He was excluded because of his gloves.

So what?
It is easier and easier to get point in WRC.If there are not very many WRC cars and you are the winner if PWRC or JWRC...One point is real thing.Especially in Latin America or Australia and Asia rallies. But it looks like in Europe too.WRC is going down so this is not something BIG.More and more times we propably may see not a WRC driver in top eight. Now a days this is very possible.

I'm glad for Ogier  but sad for Trivino he lost all because of gloves :(

I dont have anything against Trivino but how dumb do you have to be to enter a WORLD RALLY with non-homologated gloves.
On any local rally you would get through with it but on an WRC rally???
They would have caught him anytime and he knows that.

A pity for Triviņo, but this is the second time he is DQ'ed from his home event, so he should really start to learn the rules (albeit stupid gloves rules).
PS: Was Orgier running on Pirelli in Mexico?

Any JWRC car must go on Pirelli.
The record Ogier has set is the first JWRC driver to score points on debut.

Fine performance.
However, to answer the original question, several drivers have won a WRC event overall on their debut.

If you only look at WRC events, technically also Jean-Claude Andruet (Monte Carlo 1973), Stig Blomqvist (Swedish 1973) and Shekhar Mehta (Safari 1973) won their first WRC event. And many, many drivers scored points in their first ever WRC event that year ;)
