Does anyone out there have an interest in Kit-cars??

My brother had a sweet 2.0 ltr westfield that he wrote off :( in an incident with a lamb post.

My dad also built a Cobra from a kit aswell

Kit cars are as fast as a supercar yet as cheap as a hatchback!! I'm suprised you don't see more around.

I'd love a Caterham or Locost kit (would have to think about what engine to use), as well as one of the FFR or Superformance Cobra kits. One day...

I'd love to have a Westfield, drove one last year and it was awesome, brought back memories of my Formula Ford days when I was younger.

Im thinking of getting one, a Dutton Phaeton. Nice cheap little kit car ready made.

You cant beat the Westfield kits though, cheap and easy enough to make if you know what youre doing. Never been too keen on the Cobra kits though, I dont think anything like that should ever be copied, same as any supercar kit.

A few years ago whilst working in a mates joinery workshop I had the pleasure of watching these being made every day at the tiny company workshop http://www.sylva.co.uk/

There is a nifty Sube WRX powered one made in my home town of Perth, Australia.

Heath Ledger's dad has something to do with the place, along with being a silent partner in the local Skid Pan/Driver Performance facility. Bless you Kim. I mightn't think much of your son's acting, but I love work in the local motorsport scene!

I like Westfields but opted for the Hoodie instead.

See "what car do you drive"

I own a McBurnie inspired 250 GTO Ferrari kit on a 280Z Datson frame with a 383ci/465 hp stroker v8 chevy, bulldog trans and stock datson 354:1 rear end. Fun car and quite fast, I eat corvetts for breakfast.

I took a 2 seater, mid-engined Pontiac Fiero GT and pulled out the blown up 6 cylinder motor and replaced it with a hot rodded 350 Chevy V-8 using an "Archie Kit". I didn't change any of the body work though and it too was a Vette eater. It looked stock but when stopped, old time hot rodders could hear that cam loping in there and would start asking questions.
