46 cars, the same as the last 3 races, minus #27 car and the hopelessly slow #08. Last race on '07 points.

Looks like a 50% chance of rain washing out qualifing on Friday. If it does #84 Skinner, #34 Andretti, & #10 Carpentier will not run.

With less than a day to go, it looks like 60% chance of storms tomorrow and 80% thunderstorms on Saturday.

Rain has stopped practice. Hopefully qualifying doesn't get washed out.

A couple of driver changes:
#21 Jeff Green in for Elliott (switched event with Martinsville)
#8 Aric Almirola instead of Mark Martin

RaikkonenRules

Jeff Green? Are they ever going to run Jon Wood or Marcus Ambrose?

Green's would be a bad call if it rained though as I think that #21 would be out as they wouldn't have the champ provisional.

Nascar.com has qualifing rainout.

Note:

NASCAR chose to also cancel Saturday's scheduled Nationwide Series qualifying.

The Nationwide Series starting line-up was set based off 2007 owner points.
Due to the schedule change, Nationwide Series practice will begin at 8:30 AM. (ET)

Too bad there's no Nationwide coverage this week as the idiots at nascar.com decided not to show it.

Mt Dew (Pepsico) gave DW his dominate race car from the early '80s.
DE jr will be racing a similar throwback paint job a couple of times this year.

I'd be willing to call this a boring race. Lots of cautions, the second line took forever to come in, and lots of marbles.

Great finish, nice win for Burton! Good work for RCR.

A real shame Harvick couldn't have gotten crashed out after the way he dumped Tony.

Another best-of-Hendricks finish for Jr, nice 5th place. If Eury could just get his late-race pit strategies figured out, Jr. might could get a win. (Not pitting late cost him a shot at the win both today and at Daytona.)

it happens, Harvick admitted it was his fault. nothin gonna change, happens to everydriver. Tony did that to Harv at Indy last year, so it just happends.

isn't there an old sayin of "Thats Bristol"

Gotta give Harvick credit for admitting he screwed up. He usually doesn't admit it. Sorry to see Tony get put in the wall at the end after racing good all day. still don't know what happened to hamlin.

Top rookie was Regan Smith 22th.

Well done to the RCR boys for a 1,2,3.

Vickers was running well in the top 20 before his tire blew out and left him 39th.

Another strong finish for Dragon in 17th.

I feel sorry of Casey, he's not having a good start to the season. :(

But nothing from Mr Smoke, who I imagine was actually steaming.

Same tyres as last week were they? We are told nothing over here?I took off right away after the race...so I didn't see anything live. Caught some interviews later on and Smoke seemed calm, but didn't understand why Harv wrecked him, but whined that he will get blamed for it. Harv said it was his fault and apologized...but was ticked that the #20 spotter went after his spotter.

My brother, who was at Bristol, said the two crews did a little pushing and shoving after the race.

I think if anything, the number of finishers shows what an improvement the CoT has made. On several occasions, cars which would have spun, went on the slide and re-aligned themselves.
Okay, maybe that in part is due to the progressive banking at Bristol, but certainly the CoT was a factor.

Can someone tell me why Fernando from Moonspell was doing commentary? That was some of the best growling I've heard for a long time :D

Kinda wondering about the rear bumper. It'll take a pounding and then flap unnecessarily.

Felt kinda bad for those who took black flags. Oh well, I guess that's racing.
