On crash.net they said the new evolution of the Focus WRC would have a new-style front - as on the modified series model. But according to the photos of Hirvonen and Latvala you, guys, provided, all the testings were performed with the old grill being attached. What's the reason. Or, maybe say better, what's the truth?

I think Mikko and Jari-Matti were still testing with '07 spec WRC because I don't see why Galli and co would be testing '08 Focus when they won't get to drive one before next year.

Text does not say anything about what version car he used in his test. Also the car used is listed as '07 spec test car, normally they have had a new car when version has changed if I remember it correctly.

They're still in contention. If Seb broke his leg again and sat out the last two rounds, and Ford wasn't fast enough to take the required points off Loeb because they didn't test, they'd look like morons.

Great! I really like that tyre. Now cars do not look that silly like they did with very narrow tire. And hopefully it reduces the speed in stages, adds some sideways action and tires maybe will be more puncture resistant.

I think it's exaggerated by the fact that he's only ever really driven Subaru's as well.

I believe it was a marshall that sadly became ill. The test roads are all public roads that have been closed by the local council for the test.

I was watching both Petter and PG testing in the snow yesterday,

Petter seemed to bee realy "hot" ,he was going completly flat out and the car looked very easy to handle.

Well, when was the last time he stayed on the raod during competition. he has had smaller or bigger off in almost every rally. Don't get me wrong, but he need to finish some rallies woithout any offs.

Yeah, cars do look much better now. Those old winter tires made cars look really silly :-) There are many good things with those tires - same size wheels, smaller cornering speed, more sideways, less impact on road surface, lasting a bit longer.

Last week-end Evgeniy Novikov has gravel tests in France (south of the country near the France-Spain border). During this tests he drove two cars – test-car C4 (distance of tests - 170 km) and his yellow-black C4 (distance of tests – 20 km).

Test-car was used for finding right setup for Cyprus rally. Novikov`s car was used to check the transmission setup which has some changes after Norway rally.

Unfortunately Evgeniy had only gravel tests. French police doesn`t gave a permission to make a asphalt tests...

No testing on big jumps? I think that would be the most important for Novikov. Actually I´m a bit worried about the newcomers first NORF (even Kimi) because the big jumps taken in wrong way will be very hazardous for them.... :eek:

Novikov has a huge experience of driving at similar roads in the north-west part of the Russia (near the Russian-Finnish border). In 2008 he was one and only rival for Juho Hanninen at "Rally Russia" in Vyborg...

According to SuperMotores, Citroen was thinking in testing the DS3 WRC in Portugal, nothing was confirmed but it would be nice to see the car here.

The venue from the DS3 was talked here, and the rumours started because of the secret's behind the testing this days, but Dani Sordo and Sebastien Loeb have only tested with the C4.

One other thing. Citroen was testing in a stage that could return to the Rally of Portugal next year :)

And it would be foolish from Ford not to give Ogier a proposal. If he would accept it, that'd be news. Though, Citroen could give clear signal already and make a proposal to Ogier that he can't refuse.

Going to be interesting how this plays out........MSport Ford probably have their best shot at beating Citroen with the new car. If as totalrally.com's radio show on wednesday was dropping big hints that PG would be part of the 4 Fiesta lineup in 2011. Imagine MH, JML, SO and PG in new Fiesta's - that will give Citroen some competition.
Personally, I cant see S.O leaving Citroen. It will be interesting to see how Quensel deals with this. Seb Ogier is probably the biggest thing to hit WRC for a long time and is his own man, will Quensel risk losing him to Ford and continue to appease Loeb, or will the way be paved for Loeb to transfer to the Peugot 908's?
Its going to be a gamble, loose Ogier, it will be a foolish man who does that, good luck to Malcolm, (and he has been given a lot of stick on here, including from me) but if he lands Ogier we are in for a good season.
