Does anybody know wich teams wil be testing for Germany? And where this woud be? We stil have week of vacation to come, soms maybe we can go and check It out.

Maybe, but the concrete areas are very abrasive so tyre choice is critical. Also they want a closed road with some distance to see how the brakes and tyres go with some heat in them, not something that's possible in 5 kms of Veldenz vinyard. Finally (and most important) Mikko needs as much rapprochement with asphalt as possible because it seems he forgets every year ;)

The Polo has a very distinct waste-gate sound, which doesn´t appear on the other cars, especially not the Fords. Why is that? Anyone?
I hope it doesn´t mean Polo has higher boost pressure, which I believe is regulated...?

Btw will they homologate it again? How does it work now that it is just a face-lift and as Wilson said in an interview a lot of parts are changed to accommodate the revised cooling due to the changes of air-intake points.

In my view, the car in the video is not Fiesta WRC, but R5 with WRC rear wing. It's evident from the inside shots, because the steering wheel, steering column, driver display and control box are from R5 and not WRC...

I think so. Earlier in the year I remember it was even planned to debut the car around Rally Finland. Why? It's normally possible. The R5 had to be homologated with Ford support as well. There are plenty of examples of cars which were developed without direct involvement of manufacturers and still homologated by those manufacturers.

Anyway some months a go there were rumors that the new Fiesta WRC would have different engine - the "world engine" designed from scratch like Citroën, VW or Hyundai have. We'll see...

Mikko and Dani on the other side nothing, zero !! Mikko is very frustrated...I can understand him, but I we are realistic-even with ten days testing he is not capable to fight against Ogier & JML (not to mention Dani ...)
I suspect, that Matton has already given up on both of them...they will receive after the end of Walles envelope, in which will be kindly explained, that Citroen Sport does not need their services anymore...

... with only one stage win and only three other stage podium places out of fourteen. Of course victory counts but it was very lucky one when Hänninen, Vouilloz, Meeke and Sarrazin all crashed while being ahead of him.

On the other hand in 2009 Ogier was quite a rookie.

Not sure what has drawn you to this conclusion. Ogier has only ever been on the podium once for WRC at MC. Last year, when he came 2nd - which is best of the losers.

He won it only once in IRC.

Really nice videos from best of rally live. Does anyone know what is their arrangement with promoter and teams and they have also access to onboard footage in testing? Btw their onboard camera positions are far better than those used by RedBull.

I would like to see in the future some 'official' coverage of testing by RBMH instead of them retweeting videos. They used to do it back in late 90s, I remember some VHS tapes I had from DUKE video that was a build up for the upcoming season.

Good point about license plate, I have not check it when I posted. Also bumper still has the R5 sign on the grill, so most probably is not a bespoke part for the WRC

42 days for registered manufacturer team and 10 days for registered WRC team. I suppose that VW II is just a registered team so it must be 10 days.

But still, the days are not interchangeable, so Ogier or JML can't use Mikkelsen's days.

Doesn't look so good on dry asphalt, but only stage times will tell the truth.

Would agree, WRC2/R5 speed at best but could be deceiving...
Testing isn't about raw speed and setting quick times. They're nice, but it's easy to get fixated on them and lose sight of the big picture. Testing is about putting the car through its paces, getting a feel for the way the car behaves when settings are changed, and dialling it in to the individual driver's preference. The team will have a testing programme that they will follow closely, and which they are unlikely to publish. So for all we know, that footage of Sordo was taken right when the team was testing how the car would handle on dry tarmac with an extreme snow setup. That might sound silly, but it makes sense - what happens if the first stage of the day has been inundated with snow, but the second stage escaped the worst of it to be totally dry and the teams have no opportunity to change the setup?

If I were running the team, I would certainly want to know how the car handles and what kind of pace it can manage in a situation like that.

Sorry but have You ever attend some test or have You seen some testing videos? Except first taxi and warming runs the driving in tests is always looking faster than in rallies. Always! It's because when You drive the same road 50x You are naturally taking it muuuuch faster than when You drive it first time.

Have You watched the video? The car in the video is hard as brick. Snow setup is high and soft. Nothing like that is in the video. I would say that the car appears harder set than Polo, Fiesta or even DS3.

I thought my post made it pretty clear that the situation I described was purely hypothetical. The point I was trying to make was that Sordo's lack of speed could have more to do with Hyundai's test programme than any systemic issue with the car.

With those white conditions during the RMC, power will not play a major role, but on tarmac the Hyundai seems to be a bit too much understeering...
Hope though they have a similar engine like the other teams (powerwise)
I think they're good enough for a start. Monte is specific Rally, so is Sweden and Mexico, with proper tyre choice on Monte, there can be surprises. Latest Neuville videos look decent in speed, underteering is a matter of setup, if they can make it right, the championship will be interesting.
