Kagayama is once again injured and will miss Australia as well as the tests at Valencia. Kagayama has a broken left collarbone from crash on lap 1 of race 2 in Qatar.

IIRC Kevin Curtain was going to wild card on an MV Agusta is that still happening?

Kev won't be wildcarding in WSB (as I understand), too much work in too little time with the Aus Supers just around the corner. He will be good to watch in the support races though.

I'm so pumped for the superbikes this weekend. The racing is gonna be awesome! We are so fortunate in Aus, the support racing is excellent with 4 races this year from all support categories in Superbike, Supersport and the Forgotten Era bikes (old dinosaur bikes and riders!). The weather is gonna be fine and mid-twenties and I get Friday off work. You beauty!

My picks for the races (I really have no idea)
WSB race 1
1. Corser
2. Bayliss
3. Haga

WSB race 2
1. Haga
2. Bayliss
3. Xaus

WSS
1. Pitt
2. Parkes
3. Brookes

You kids have a nice weekend coz I'm off to the Island. Cheers.

AH, brings a tear to the eye, and makes you proud to be an Aussie. You have to salute a man that is not complaining about riding with an injury like that, but more concerned about how he is going to manage drinking a cold frosty one

Great races as always on the Island.

As I expected, Bayliss and that factory Ducati are too strong. It was nice to see that Kyonari had in both races a very good last lap. Strange that there were so much jump starts. Pity for Biaggi, his last accident was on huge speed and Nieto was lucky there.

Bayliss has now a nice lead in the championship, 27 points after only 4 races. That is much, especially when you see that the other big guys had problems: Haga with his hand, Corser with a jump start and an accident in second race, Biaggi with 0 points in Australia...

Nice to see that Ruben Xaus is 3rd in the championship. Unbelievable, but true. It is a good sign for Valencia. Checa did a nice performance.

Good ride from Ten Kate Honda's in WSS and especially Garry McCoy with the Triumph!
My countryman Didier van Keymeulen has a broken collarbone (qualifying on Saturday). :( He is already operated and there is a good chance he will be back in Valencia.

That is gold respect to bayliss. :D

It was quality action the WSS was awesome tense racing till the end too bad to see gazza not being able to go on with it but good to see an Aussie win. Both WBK races where also good but they had nothing on WSS that was farken awesome.

I only got pay tv a few months ago and this is the second time ive watched WSS i'am hooked its great!. :D

Fantastic day of racing. Amazing drama! I can't believe Fabrizio took third in race one after being slapped off his bike on the grid - when Iannuzo hit him, Fabrizio's boot flew up like a missile out of camerashot, incredible.

Then all three TenKate bikes get tangled up at Lukey Heights, and all three restarted the race... how lucky can you get. Awesome effort from Checa in both races.

McCoy the ride of the day for me; would have been Biaggi had he stayed aboard.

Vitto Iannuzzo's broken his wrist:

http://www.crash.net/motorsport/wsbk/news/160334-0/iannuzzo_hospitalised_after_crash.html

Let's hope for a full and speedy recovery - such an unfortunate incident. Max B also has a broken wrist after his massive crash in race two.

Aside from that - what a superb trio of races! Nothing more to add really! :D

3 excellent races, shame Biaggi went out in both superbike races. He was the only one that looked like he could challenge Bayliss. He was very lucky to walk away with only a a broken wrist. Good to see Triumph up there in Supersport.

My belated Phillip Island WSB roundup. Seeing as this is still the last WSB round to run then I am working on the theory it is still current. :)

You were only a hundred or so metres away from me Roby! I was down at turn 1 for most of the weekend.

Well, it was a great weekend. The weather was superb, the company sensational and the racing was fantastic and Aussies winning them all was a bonus. The only disappointment was Parkes crashing in the the supersport race and the jump starts in the second WSB race which killed good rides by some lesser lights.
The local support races were very good and are highly underrated in this country. Veteran (vintage?) racer and 3-time champ, Shawn Giles returned to form in the Aus Superbike class after a couple of years of injury to take honours by a bees wiener over two-time reigning champ, Jamie Stauffer.
It wasn't all bad for Jamie though, taking the supersport honours in a Yamaha domination.
And in the Forgotten Era racing (historics), the mighty Kwak Z1's reigned supreme in the hands of Karl Corpe and Peter Guest. Mr Superbike, Robbie Phillis was right up there but for mechanical gremlins in the last 2 races.

I think I like WSB at the Island better than MotoGP due to it's more laid back feel. It's kinda like a big club meet and more for motorcycle enthusiasts than MotoGP I reckon.

Anyways, here are some pics I took:

And if only I had a crystal ball, I could have got a ripping shot of Biaggi's second race crash which was right in front of me. It's quite shocking to be so close to such a fast crash. TV doesn't really do it justice.
