So ok let's suppose it's all over.
I have some questions:
1.What will be the name of the new series.
2.The Dalaras are for this year only until they work something on the Panoz for next year.?
3.Will they add more champcar races for next year.?
4.TV coverage for Europe? What will happen to the Eurosport deal?
5.Which of the excisting Champcar teams are joining the new series.?

etc.etc.etc.

I know it's a lot of questions but I need to know

Thanks in advance

most of those we won't know until we know the details of the deal.

As has been mentioned numerous times, a "merged" series will not be on Eurosport. It will be aired on whatever channel currently has the rights to the IRL (i.e. Sky Sports in the Uk).

1. Who knows. Probably has that phrase "Indy Car" in it.
2. Hope so. Though people should realise in their hate for the crapwagons, that the DP-01 isn't the saviour of wheel to wheel, spectacular road racing. Needs the rear wing removed.
3. Bloody hope so. Namely Cleveland, Mt Tremblant and Road America. Watkins Glen also needs to rejoin the schedule. Watkins Glen and Road America on the same calendar is a mouthwatering prospect.
4 & 5. No comment.

All will be revealed...

1.What will be the name of the new series.
I'd prefer it if they dropped the IRL tag, but I get the impression that it'll stay the same.

2.The Dalaras are for this year only until they work something on the Panoz for next year.?
They're looking at a new car for 2010, something totally unique, but I would thing we're stuck with the Dallaras until then.

3.Will they add more champcar races for next year.?
Apparently they're planning on starting with a clean slate for the schedule in 2009. According to Curt Calvin, the track owners are taking a long-term view on this and are willing to drop 2008 to focus on 2009, so we might not see the raft of litigations that have been predicted.

4.TV coverage for Europe? What will happen to the Eurosport deal?
The IRL website is still showing the 2007 schedule, but Eurosport weren't happy with the ratings for CCWS, hence the move to Eurosport 2, and they apparently already show highlights of Indycar, so it's possible that they won't have an issue with it, but we'll probably find put more info when it becomes official. Sky (UK & Eire) are still advertising the new IndyCar season.

5.Which of the excisting Champcar teams are joining the new series.?
It's likely that PKV, NHL and Walker will be there. Forsythe is a probable and Conquest will be, as long as Surfer's is on the schedule. Again, only time will tell.

I would hope that the long term (2010) solution chassis-wise isn't Dallara OR Panoz, but both. And Lola too.
