Hi all,

Let's suppose the unification it's true
What happens to TV broadcast rights for Europe.
Eurosport has the rights for CampCars and another network has them for IRL.
So what's the deal?

Thanks in Advance

If it happens eurosport loses out and the networks with IRL coverage will carry the "merged" series.

Sky sports will carry it in the UK.

From trawling through lots of European satellite sports channels (looking for footie), a lot of them already carry IRL live and CCWS highlights. Like Bob said, Eurosport stand to be the big losers unless they can pick up contracts for the countries where IRL isn't shown.

the loss of the ES deal (as it is currently) is not much of a loss (to me).
I can understand They don't want to spend money on this stuff.
they spent money for the good stuff back in the days and maybe they will again sometime in the future.

i was thinking about the Australian TV deal....

ESPN Australia covers the IRL (but barely any houses in Australia has ESPN)

Channel 7 has the rights to Champ Car, not the Irl... BUT it has the rights to the Indy...

Hopefully its picked up by both! ESPN would show it live, and channel 7 would show it tape delayed on free-to-air.

Hmmmm

With both NASCAR and proper pukka re-unified Indycar on Sky Sports its looking like I may have to get Sky Sports once again. There is good news though in that ITV4 will be carrying all the BTCC races live so no need for a Setanta subscription!

And will Jeremy Shaw and Hinch still have a job in the commentry box??

i'd be disapointed if they didn't stay.

the IRL's current pairing on the international tv feed is ****.

Exactly - but i do have a feeling that Shaw and Hinch wont get a look in.

If I was Jeremy Shaw I'd be beating the doors down of anybody he still knows from ESPN International to get the gig this year. Don't forget he did cover Champ Car for ESPN International from 1997 until 2001.
