I was watching the Rally Crash programme on Dave last night and they omitted a couple of crashes I was sure would have been on. The first was when Tomi Makinen ran into a cow then went over a very steep hill. http://youtube.com/watch?v=UhNUcG0nKtQ. The second (I thought) was Seb Loeb but can someone confirm it. The driver was going very quickly on a straight towards a narrow bridge. As he did he clipped the bridge, breaking his foot. Can anyone remember who it was? I think it was about four years ago.

Yes.. by the description of the accident it just could be Freddy's crash in 2002 driving a Hyundai Accent WRC

Maybe not right to link to a vid where driver get hurt, but it was not serious and Fast Freddy did one of his best performances ever in the following Rally Sweden with the broken foot :up:

Freddy's crash was bad, but the one that Roman Kresta had in the same clip was really scary one.

One of the most scary ones I've seen is the one Mäkinen had at Corsica in 2001 (? or 2002) when he clipped a cliff edge and rolled, stopping just before the big drop. His co-driver, Risto Mänisenmäki, injured his back quite badly unfortunatley.

Markko Martin's crash in Argentina 2004 was not on the programme.

Nasty one that. I remember getting a magazine that had a picture of it, shocking how close he was to a very, very nasty day for rallying.

The on crash I always remember was on a British tarmac event. Lydon Barton landed badly in his old impreza and ended up flying into the air spinning around. Very nasty crash and I think both driver and co-driver spent some time in hospital.
